Well, she has to look at them, we just look through them. That said, I still like picking out my own.
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 03/09/2013: 16:11:20
I went to the eye doctor right before Christmas and she was really adamant that I should be using reading glasses or bifocals at my age. And I told her that I wasn't having any problems. And she was all "well if you're not yet, you will be by this time next year." It was like I had personally insulted her or something. Very weird.
She talked me into these glasses that were supposed to be like a middle step between using nothing and using bifocals. They were supposed to help with stuff like eye fatigue when I worked at the computer. I think I wore them one day at work but the transition between them and my regular glasses was so hard that I was afraid I wouldn't be able to see to drive home so I only wore them the once.
I should have just bought a second pair of regular glasses as back up. (They give you a deal on two pairs.)

Day four and these glasses still suck ass. I did get the two for one deal, so I now have two pairs of glasses that I hate. But I'm also stubborn... and gosh darn it if I payed the money, then I'm gonna get used the them![]()

I still wear regular ones part of the time when I'm at home. For instance, when I'm watching television from the recliner, I'd be looking through the wrong part of the lens for distance, so I switch.
OM45GE - Posted - 03/10/2013: 08:46:53
That sounds like a good idea. I don't have any regular glasses though.
DeanT - Posted - 03/10/2013: 09:10:44
I'm thinking seriously about getting some regular glasses without the acidfocals
OM45GE - Posted - 03/10/2013: 16:29:03
I worked with a guy who has contact lenses. One is for distance and the other is for reading. He said it took a couple of weeks to get used to them but now he wouldn't do anything else. Apparently the brain just uses whatever eye it needs and ignores the signals from the other one. He still had depth perception and all that.
DeanT - Posted - 03/10/2013: 17:10:15
I considered contacts... but I'm too squeamish with the touching the eye stuff....

Is anyone else having difficulties in posting replies in the last 2 hours or so?
OM45GE - Posted - 03/11/2013: 04:15:07
It's giving me an error message when I try to post. When I go to the thread my reply is there but it doesn't index.
dmiller - Posted - 03/11/2013: 14:54:14
I was having error messages too, but I figured it's just because I need new glasses. ![]()

I never cared to drink it straight, but then again I didn't care how I drank much of anything as long as I got a drink

Its a wonder that they don't sell it in bottles............they could call it 'mac Beam' or 'mac daniels'. Or even 'Jackfiddich'
