Toby has come close but never caught one. He did catch a dove in mid air once. He was pointing it and the dove flushed back at him. All those treats he's caught paid off.

we had a cat in a tree in out front yard, our dog sat under the tree all night, we went to bed and he was there and woke up an the dog was on the porch and the cat was laying at the trunk of the tree,   many cats tried to cross the yard, few made it.  he didn't do anything with them after. just walked off and left them after he stopped them and gave them one good shake

When I was growing up we still had fields separated with windrows of trees. (It's all developed now). One of our dogs learned to chase squirrels in the trees. He would run along underneath barking like a mad dog. The squirrels would leap from tree to tree and every now and then one would miss and fall to the ground and Blackie would pounce on them.  He got pretty good at it.

Work got off to a bang this week. Craziness.



We got a little more snow Tuesday than we were expecting, and it all hit during morning rush, so school's were closed and my work was closed. I went down into the basement to grab the shovel so I could shovel the walk. When I came up all the animals were acting a little weird and Fiona (my bigger dog) was missing. So I went upstairs and discovered she'd broken through the gate at the top of the stairs. I don't know if she wanted to visit with the new kitties or if she was hoping to get into the cat food that was out. But when I found her she was sitting in the middle of the hall totally terrified, trapped between the two new kitties.

I got asked in a meeting how my current "temporary" position was going.  My response was non-verbal.  One of the women in the meeting just laughed.  "Did you see that?  She rolled her eyes."

(Due to budget cuts they've implemented a hiring freeze, which means I may be "temporary" for a long, long time.)

We've had "hiring freezes"  and still recruited for 1,500 position. Right now they're slowing everything down by mot approving offers. I hate it when they do that, because my hiring managers are expecting me to move things along and think it's my fault.
