I don't understand why some people are so down on her. They don't have to like her music, but show a little respect. I don't care for hip hop or rap, but I recognize the talent some of the artists have.

dat - Posted - 07/17/2015:  08:57:39

she is cute, but has that fake china doll look,   would be nice with less makeup   but then again, she is cute

kinda like I am with the Beatles,  I don't care for all their songs, actually just like a few,  but no doubt they were talented, and could sing and play just about anything

OM45GE - Posted - 07/17/2015:  12:30:32

They sure had a huge impact on the music world.

DeanT - Posted - 07/17/2015:  13:48:32

I have "one after 909" on my ipod for running. Great Beatles song that never got popular.

dat - Posted - 07/17/2015:  14:12:08

I liked Rocky Raccoon

chuckv97 - Posted - 07/17/2015:  15:56:42

Eleanor Rigby is my fave

DeanT - Posted - 07/17/2015:  17:31:41

"I saw her standing there" would get my vote

dat - Posted - 07/18/2015:  09:26:50

they played this one well

I'm a huge Beatles fan and would have a hard time picking one favorite, but Here, There and Everywhere is a great tune.

DeanT - Posted - 07/18/2015:  17:53:35

"All my Lovin" is the first song I ever performed in public

chuckv97 - Posted - 07/18/2015:  17:55:45

"Here,There, and Everywhere" and "I Love Her" are their best slower ballads. "I Feel Fine" and "We Can Work It Out" are good faster tunes. IMHO.

"you can't do that" Is probably my favorite to play

dmiller - Posted - 07/18/2015:  18:24:29

I have a hard/ hard/ hard time trying to choose one Beatle tune as a favorite, or the best.  Everything they wrote was good.  If I was forced to choose one as my favorite, I'd have to go with the rooftop Get Back final performance.  approve

The incredible number of really good songs they wrote is amazing.

dmiller - Posted - 07/18/2015:  20:40:57

True.  Kind of ironic that Ringo just celebrated his 75th birthday, and it's been 35 years since John got shot at age 40.

DeanT - Posted - 07/18/2015:  22:05:15

As much as I like them, I was always more of a Stones person.

OM45GE - Posted - 07/19/2015:  10:26:07

I like the Stones as much as I do the Beatles. Incredible that they're still rocking it. We saw them in concert a few years ago and it was a great show.

DeanT - Posted - 07/19/2015:  16:40:17

Yep, we went to Bigger Bang tour in 2006, incredible show!

OM45GE - Posted - 07/20/2015:  04:38:37

I don't know how they do it, especially Keith Richards. That man has burned candles from both ends, the middle and still rocks with the kids.

DeanT - Posted - 07/20/2015:  06:18:50

He keeps moving, that's the secret. Never stop

my brother went to see Joan Jett last weekend,   I didn't know she was still going

Yeah.  I honestly don't really know much about them or their music.  There are songs that I guess I know that they wrote, but if you asked me to name a Beatles song, I'd have to think about it.  But I do recognize the impact they had on music and the incredible number of solidly good songs they wrote.

I think Taylor Swift is a lot like that.  Shania Twain was kind of that way.  I think both of them recognize that they are writing to a particular audience.  I remember hearing Shania Twain in an interview talking about the songs that she wrote that she never played for anyone outside of family/loved ones because she knew they wouldn't be accepted by the country/pop audience who bought her stuff.  I suspect the same is true of Taylor Swift.  The songs she puts out are appealing to a large audience on a regular basis.  I have a lot of respect for her.

Granted the main difference between The Beatles and Taylor Swift or Shania Twain is the Beatles were ground breaking.  The other two are more just solid producers of good music.

I like Guy Clark too, never really a big name as far as singing, but he has written a many songs

chuckv97 - Posted - 07/20/2015:  14:18:36

Yep, and same with Townes Van Zant

DeanT - Posted - 07/20/2015:  16:48:39

How about some Leon Redbone?

OM45GE - Posted - 07/21/2015:  10:33:30

Love Leon. He has so many wonderful arrangements of classic songs. I play a few of my own versions that were inspired by his - Ain't Misbehavin' is a favorite.

DeanT - Posted - 07/21/2015:  13:45:29

Cool, we have a same favorite song! That's the song that taught me how to flat a chord and slide into it.

OM45GE - Posted - 07/21/2015:  14:09:11

That is cool. I do a sort of jazzy version with the chord progression moving up the neck with the melody. Lots of fun.

DeanT - Posted - 07/21/2015:  17:07:14

That's one of the songs that everyone remembers, but no one plays anymore.

OM45GE - Posted - 07/22/2015:  05:19:09

Leon keeps a lot of them alive. I've seen him in person several times. Always a great show.

DeanT - Posted - 07/22/2015:  06:28:24

I've met Leon Russel, does that count?

dat - Posted - 07/22/2015:  11:26:38

my sisters ex husband is named Russell,

chuckv97 - Posted - 07/22/2015:  13:39:57

My brother had a redbone...........album

dat - Posted - 07/22/2015:  14:05:21

we had a redbone coon hound

DeanT - Posted - 07/22/2015:  16:20:24

I had a basset hound, dumbest dog I ever had... I loved him anyways...

dat - Posted - 07/23/2015:  06:36:19

have had two bassets, they like room to run, they make better dogs if they have room to follow a trail, kinda like a bloodhound, their nose takes over and they ignore everything else

OM45GE - Posted - 07/23/2015:  06:49:07

I've never owned a Bassett Hound, but they always look goofy happy.

dat - Posted - 07/23/2015:  15:04:02

yeah, they have that  "I don't care" look, which is very deceiving

DeanT - Posted - 07/23/2015:  15:16:33

mine was a digger. He tried to dig through the kitchen floor to get under the back door. Outside he would dig under the fence, and then stand there wondering how he got where he was.

OM45GE - Posted - 07/23/2015:  17:53:30

I love their voices when they're howling, but I wonder if it would get old if you owned one.

DeanT - Posted - 07/23/2015:  22:25:09

YES!

dat - Posted - 07/24/2015:  06:45:45

'specially at 2:30 in the morning

OM45GE - Posted - 07/24/2015:  07:41:00

Our neighbors let their Golden Retriever out in their fenced in backyard late at night and he stands their barking at the world for no apparent reason.

dat - Posted - 07/24/2015:  08:56:17

there was a leaf that fell somewhere, a spider knocked that leaf down, the spider jumped 'cause there was a mouse that ran, th e mouse ran because there was a snake, the snakes moved 'cause of the badger running, the badger was running from a coyote, the coyote saw the bear and just happened to stumble over the badger,   so the dog had a good reason to bark

OM45GE - Posted - 07/24/2015:  12:57:03

That about sums it up.

Do you remember the "twilight bark" scene from 101 Dalmatians?

DeanT - Posted - 07/24/2015:  13:36:40

My Bassett would bark just because it was 2:30 am

dat - Posted - 07/24/2015:  14:04:50

smart dog, kept the relay going

chuckv97 - Posted - 07/24/2015:  17:19:46

We had a Heinz 57 dog that would bark at thunder, looking angrily up at the sky
