I need to try to remember to buy some Swiss cheese today. I usually have tuna melts for dinner on Turkey day.

I'll probably sleep in and then take a nap.

dat - Posted - 11/23/2011:  14:19:45

I like doing that on thanksgiving,   sleep late, then eat, then take a nap then wake up and eat a snack and go to bed. I would like it, but I don't think it's ever happened

DeanT - Posted - 11/23/2011:  17:26:35

I'll be doing laundry and practicing while the bird cooks...

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 11/23/2011:  17:27:13

Yeah, I probably need to do some laundry this weekend. Especially if I want to have clean underwear on Monday.

Putting up the Christmas lights tomorrow...

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 11/25/2011:  18:34:33

They called this morning about my car. They had to order one more part and it might not be in until Tuesday. So I guess I'll be driving DP's Jimmy around for a few more days.

I have rental insurance and could get something small for like $5 a day, but then I'd have the hassle of dealing with figuring out how to shuffle three cars around instead of two. And except for gas, DP's truck is free.

I need to come up with a good gift for him. I got him a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label and a set of flannel sheets for doing my brakes. I don't know what else to get him.

I'm more of a single malt Scotch guy myself.

dat - Posted - 11/30/2011:  06:00:38

sounds good too, we'll stop by for a glass of  Glenlivet

DeanT - Posted - 11/30/2011:  07:55:23

You all use a glass when your drinking booze?

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 11/30/2011:  08:28:17

I've never really tried Scotch before, except for some of DP's Black Label. That's one of those things that is so expensive I don't really want to experiment with it.

Bad enough that I've wasted money on things like vodka and rum. I think I've got two bottles of vodka and a bottle of rum that I bought and I just can't bring myself to drink. Oh, and a bottle of Jamesons that I'm slowly working my way through. I only drink that if I don't have anything else. So many people rave about it and I just don't like it.

Give me my Maker's Mark or maybe just some Wild Turkey and I'm happy as a clam.

dat - Posted - 11/30/2011:  08:52:59

I have to get my bride a bottle of rum this weekend, she makes the best rum bread pudding I think I have ever drank.

OM45GE - Posted - 11/30/2011:  08:58:54

Mmmmmmmmmmm

DeanT - Posted - 11/30/2011:  09:25:06

Bread? Pudding? Buying booze you didn't drink? Slowly making your way? Advice: Remove cap, place bottle to lips, tip up. Are we clear?

dat - Posted - 11/30/2011:  09:52:13

the bread pudding is a hit everywhere she takes it, last time we took it somewhere everybody wanted her to pour them a slice.  I haven't actually drank any rum that I can remember  ( which could have been sooner than I realize) in a long time.   last I remember you mix a little coke in with a glass full of rum then squeeze a little lime juice in it

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 11/30/2011:  13:14:36

My former supervisor makes booze balls every year around the holidays. She sometimes takes them to parties and watches everyone get a little buzzed. It can be quite entertaining.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 12/01/2011:  09:27:35

Did you guys hear about this one?

Never let your dog have booze balls

dat - Posted - 12/02/2011:  06:52:09

I have heard about that happening before, 'specially with the 870, the safety is right on the trigger guard, a dog can step on the trigger guard and turn off the safety and mash the trigger at the same time.    but Dean is right, don't share the booze with the dogs

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 12/02/2011:  07:47:13

When I was a teenager the dog we had like to lick the wine cooler bottle when I was done (I'm a wussy drinker). One day I wouldn't let him and he attacked me.

Since then I've never let my dogs have alcohol.

My old Golden Retriever loved beer. You couldn't leave a full glass within his reach.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 12/03/2011:  08:01:39

The vet prescribed some medication for one of my kitties because she has an REM sleep disorcer and has these seizure-like episodes while she's sleeping. She can be kind of clutzy when she's having episodes, so I thought maybe I'd see if I could do something to make them a little better.

The meds are worse than the general clutziness. She was stoned out of her mind (like walking into walls and once she lost control going down the stairs and smashed into the wall at the bottom) the first time I gave it. The second time I gave half a dose and she still was really loopy. She was freaking out like there was a mouse under the couch. And the other cats were looking under the couch and then looking at her like, "Dude, really, there's nothing there."

I'm thinking I should maybe just let well enough alone and not medicate her.
