I still have my old Stratocaster but it hasn't been out of the case for quite a while.
DeanT - Posted - 10/15/2016: 14:27:12
I love the electric shovel! And only 3 strings! I'm the odd man out here, because I'd take my Tele over my banjo any day. I still play my Tele way more.

Slow?? I was at our usual Wednesday night Bluegrass jam (this was a few years ago), and the evening was beginning to wear on me around 9 PM, so I said: "OK friends - - one more tune for me, because I have to leave here pretty quick". One of the other pickers there in our jam said: "Dave - - I've never seen you do ANYTHING quick".
Some folks have said if I moved any slower, I'd be in a coma.

I'm in the middle of on-line training for my company about all kinds of compliance issues. I'm about to slip into a coma. If you don't hear from me in a couple of days, send the dogs!
dat - Posted - 10/18/2016: 07:16:53
I feel like I'm moving slow today, up last night till after 1, then the dogs were singing all night
but I have less than two weeks here, so I feel pretty good
dat - Posted - 10/18/2016: 10:14:11
oh yeah
they offered a raise, I told him that I was just ready for something different, they offered a different position, working with less people, I thought it was nice, but I was still ready for a change

47 years old and starting over doing kind of what I did right out of high school, one thing for sure. my body will either get in shape, of balk at it pretty bad
DeanT - Posted - 10/18/2016: 12:51:09
I've thought about that. I retired and now I work out a lot. Why didn't I just get a job loading trucks at UPS?
dat - Posted - 10/18/2016: 13:16:20
'cause you can work out when you want to n'stead of when yer told to prob'ly ![]()

This is my old grandpa on my mother's side - sometime in the 1940's. He worked his little farm until he was 87. I've got 20 more years if I want to beat him.
DeanT - Posted - 10/19/2016: 04:26:02
That's why I workout and run marathons... just trying to keep moving.

Back in the 60's, one of the bands I was in wore these. Hrd to believe, but it was in style.
OM45GE - Posted - 10/19/2016: 15:28:49
Bands did dance steps back then. I wasn't coordinated enough to do steps and play guitar at the same time, but I did my best.
DeanT - Posted - 10/19/2016: 16:14:12
That's what I call good rapp! Man they had it figured out a long time ago!
dat - Posted - 10/20/2016: 07:52:01
I never could dance, but if I drank enough I tried, if nothing else somebody got a good laugh
dat - Posted - 10/20/2016: 08:14:01
I like a good laugh, even if it's at my expense and have to look back at it
chuckv97 - Posted - 10/20/2016: 12:00:10
I was too bashful to dance, but did a fake job if I had a few. Girls weren't too impressed....
OM45GE - Posted - 10/20/2016: 12:36:48
if you look up the word "awkward" in the dictionary, there's a photo of me dancing.
dat - Posted - 10/20/2016: 12:45:34
kinda long video, but I tried to keep up with the older folks and couln't, some of the old fogies slide around the dance floor like they're floating
dmiller - Posted - 10/20/2016: 20:43:44
I never could even do a slow dance, although I tried back when I was a teen and there were pretty girls around. My brain understood the rhythm and the beat of the songs being played, but my feet and the rest of me never did.
OM45GE - Posted - 10/21/2016: 03:43:21
My ex-wife was a phenomenal dancer. I looked even worse in comparison.
dat - Posted - 10/21/2016: 06:06:48
cotton eyed joe ![]()
by the time they played that, everybody was purty much liquored up by then
DeanT - Posted - 10/21/2016: 11:02:33
That and the Texas 10-step... to a song I can't remember... the only line that comes to mind is "Clyde played electric bass, played it with finesse and grace"
OM45GE - Posted - 10/21/2016: 11:17:13
Wasn't that a JJ Cale song called "Clyde"? Waylon Jennings did a version.
