The keyboard player from one of the rock bands I was in years ago fell skinning and. Got a "barber pole" leg fracture where the break was a spiral that went completely around the bone. It put me off skiing for a while and he never skied again.

I was waterskiing once when the guy driving the boat swung wide and got me heading for some protruding rocks on the lake. I could've killed him! I managed to swerve a couple of times to avoid them,but just barely.

I tried water skiing once but I don't really have the upper body strength for  and I kept loosing my grip on the rope.

I gave up finally when the skis crossed in front of me and hit my legs just above the knees.  I had grapefruit sized bruises for a couple weeks after.

Nope. We had two people killed on the lake a couple of years ago. One of the residents liked to do a post-sunset full speed blast around the lake well lubricated with liquor. There were four folks anchored off shore in their boat and he didn't see them in time.

My sister's kids are getting harder to shop for at Christmas as they get older.  The middle two, in particular (boy 16, girl 15), have gotten to a point where they'd really prefer just to get money or gift cards.  I don't like gift cards because I don't like quantifying how much I think someone is worth.  This year I found these really beautiful bracelets for the girls (on sale for $10--marked down from $40!!!) so I wanted to get something nice for my nephew that would be kind of equivalent.

I found a vintage lure from Sounth Bend, IN (which is where they live).  He really liked it.

I've done OK on eBay too. I've made a few mistakes but usually don't. I got a brand new high-end Martin guitar once for about 1/3 the list price The seller (a music store) had relisted it after it failed to meet it's reserve but forgot to put a reserve on the new listing. They honored the sale. I played it for a few years and then doubled my money when I sold it to another music store. That put a smile on my face for sure.

Try taking astragalus and oregano oil, Bill. It might not prevent it now anymore,but it won't be as severe or last as long - in my experience anyway. I hate getting sick out on the road ,so I take a few supplements regularly. Also echinacea drops. Good luck with that.

I have a friend who swears by oregano oil,  I decided to try it.  It was a real pain trying to find some and the first stuff I got was "not approved for oral consumption" which I didn't notice until after my first dose. (Not that anything happened.  But that stuff wasn't cheap and I wished I'd seen that before I bought it.)

Oh, wow,not good Jennifer. I buy it from the vitamin shelf at any drug store or health food store. It's supposed to be taken sublingually, and I mix a bit of water with it so it doesn't "bite".
