I'm beginning to think I have some sort of evil effect on them.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/16/2014: 10:13:54
You said it. Once I hit 60 I became invisible to a lot of young women.

if he is like me he spent enough money in one to buy it over time

What's that Ron White line about having drunk so much Scotch they sent him a couple of Scottie dogs?
dat - Posted - 01/17/2014: 07:48:45
I like his line about being drunk in pub-lick, I wasn't in public until you threw me out the door
DeanT - Posted - 01/17/2014: 19:10:28
Those were the days... I wouldn't trade them for anything, but I wouldn't do them over again either!
OM45GE - Posted - 01/17/2014: 19:43:14
I still like a glass of Scotch now and then but I hate getting drunk so just one will do.

On a completely different subject, Toby has raw spots on his front paws and legs. They started when the roads were treated with salt because of ice. He's licked the raw. I've been treating them with antiseptic cream and taping socks on. I get them almost cleared up and he starts in on them again. it's off to the vets later today.
DeanT - Posted - 01/18/2014: 06:38:33
That sucks... our dogs are weatherwusses, if it's cold enough for snow and ice, they don't like to go outside. Good luck at the vets!
OM45GE - Posted - 01/18/2014: 06:49:17
Toby loves the snow. I rolls in it, tunnels for moles, and catches snowballs. Thanks for the well wishes
OM45GE - Posted - 01/18/2014: 08:10:54
The cone of shame. Lol we were talking about that last night.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/18/2014: 15:20:38
Toby has infections. The vet said there's no way to tell if the infection was why he was licking or his licking caused the infection. Antibacterial wipes, spray and pills - keep it covered, that will be $349.00 please.
DeanT - Posted - 01/18/2014: 18:05:51
Is Toby a conehead now? We've used the hot-spot spray before and it works really good.
We have 4 dogs, and by the time they are done with the dishes, we just put them away. ![]()

No cone of sham for now. We'll see how he does.
my in laws were over for dinner a couple of years ago and Toby plunked himself next to my mother in law. She said he must like her and I said, no, it's because you're eating out of his dish. She didn't think it was a funny as I did.
DeanT - Posted - 01/19/2014: 00:20:12
My Mother-in-law is more a cat person. She's also into wildlife, and feeds all the outdoor critters. She loves the dogs, but doesn't have one herself. She wouldn't mind one bit if they ate at the same table!
OM45GE - Posted - 01/19/2014: 06:33:26
My mother in law is like Mother Nature. Lucy feeds the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, etc. I had to get her to stop feeding they coyotes! They were getting pretty aggressive.
DeanT - Posted - 01/19/2014: 07:20:35
We hear the coyotes all the time, but they never come into the city
OM45GE - Posted - 01/19/2014: 08:58:24
We are in a pretty densely populated suburban area. There a lot of wooded areas and we've got lots of coyotes, deer, fox (red and gray), wild turkeys, etc that roam through the neighborhoods. I took Toby for a predawn walk last summer and there were three deer and two coyotes having a Mexican standoff at the end of our driveway.
dat - Posted - 01/20/2014: 07:42:58
I've been seeing a fox for the last few days, I figure she is eyeballing the chickens
DeanT - Posted - 01/20/2014: 10:22:04
We did have fox's on the Air Force Base. Cool looking and fast moving slinky little suckers. I saw them often during my pre dawn runs... lots of skunks too.
dat - Posted - 01/20/2014: 11:50:57
ifin a skunk didn't stink, they are nice looking animals with the white/ black contrast
DeanT - Posted - 01/20/2014: 15:17:39
If you don't bother them, they are cool. I would run right by them and they didn't care.

My ex was letting our Golden Retriever out to pee and saw a skunk in the driveway. Instead of bringing the dog back in, she said "Oh Kelly, look at the skunk!" That dog smelled like skunk for about a year whenever he got wet.
