Our cats are always on mouse patrol. Actually anything that moves patrol

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/05/2012:  12:02:53

I don't mind most snakes. But I wouldn't want a rattler in my house.

OM45GE - Posted - 06/05/2012:  12:07:03

I used to have a friend who was a biology professor. He kept several rattlesnakes in glass cages. hey were in the spare bedroom so if I stayed over I got to sleep with them.

dat - Posted - 06/05/2012:  13:28:08

last rattlesnake I was around accidentally bumped his head on some #4 lead shot moving at about 1400 ft per second

DeanT - Posted - 06/05/2012:  13:44:05

Here in the city, the rattle snakes are in the zoo

OM45GE - Posted - 06/05/2012:  14:55:49

They don't taste too bad.

dat - Posted - 06/05/2012:  15:25:38

not bad, but it isn't anything I'ld go out of the way for.  kinda like frog legs or alligator, not bad, but an inch and a quarter thick ribeye sprinkled with garlic salt and lea and perrins then grilled over mesquete coals tastes better

OM45GE - Posted - 06/05/2012:  15:26:20

I'm with there for sure.

dat - Posted - 06/05/2012:  15:29:47

headed home to start packing, pack a little tonight, a little tommorrow night, then leave thursday after work, should be setting up our tent thursday evening about 11:30 or 12:00.

OM45GE - Posted - 06/05/2012:  16:47:56

Have a great time!

DeanT - Posted - 06/05/2012:  17:38:33

I'm sure you will have a lap top in the tent?

OM45GE - Posted - 06/06/2012:  01:26:16

He will need REALLY wi-fi!

dat - Posted - 06/06/2012:  05:40:08

Great thing about being there is even when my bride had a cell phone, she couldn't even text unless she got in the truck and drove about 6 miles out from the camp then turn from the dirt road to the gravel road then drive about another mile to the top of the hill.

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2012:  07:16:16

I won't be on here either this weekend. Greyhound convention :)

dat - Posted - 06/06/2012:  07:58:14

you gonna take the bus?

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/06/2012:  08:03:11

I'm working all weekend....

dat - Posted - 06/06/2012:  08:33:28

some folks need to be kept working jest so they stay out of trouble, others can be given free time and can keep themselves out of trouble.   I tend to get the free time and still do something stupid

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2012:  09:56:33

Yeah we are going to take our three greyhounds in the Chevy HHR bus

dat - Posted - 06/06/2012:  10:39:45

they could run beside you, but then again, I'll bet they enjoy the AC

OM45GE - Posted - 06/06/2012:  12:26:19

They don't let me take a weekend off because they would have to retrain me on Monday.

My son does have piano recitals both this and next Saturday.

dat - Posted - 06/06/2012:  13:10:22

THEY WON'T HAVE TO RETRAIN ME ON MONDAY 'CAUSE i WON'T BE BACK 'TILL TUESDAY.

opps, didn't mean to have the cap lock on.

by tuesday I'm not gonna want to come back

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2012:  13:50:32

I'm retired so I don't even have to coma back. My band mates might get pissed though...

dat - Posted - 06/06/2012:  14:25:09

back a long time ago when I worked in construction   (I drank a lot then)  we would be out all night drinking then when it got time to pass out I would find my way to the jobsite and "take a nap" on the scaffolding,  somebody on the crew would wake me up when they got there and we'ld get to work.    ahhhhh, the good ol days

my boss didn't fire me cause I was one of the few that was there every day and I still got as much or more work done hung over than most did sober

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2012:  16:27:58

I've got that t-shirt too! Man, it hurts to think about it.

OM45GE - Posted - 06/06/2012:  17:06:39

I used to hate waking up not having a clue where I was. One of my old friends (RIP) was passed out in front of the fire station when the alarm went off and woke him up. He was a volunteer fireman so he stumbled into the firestation. When some of the others got there he found out HE was the call. Someone had reported a body in the road.

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2012:  17:31:06

This conversation is giving me a headache :)

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/06/2012:  18:05:04

I've never been that drunk.

I've had a couple wicked hangovers that made me consider taking off work. But I always figured I couldn't take off for self-inflicted stupidity.

The once it was my boss I was drinking with. She was fine the next morning but I was miserable.

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2012:  19:34:01

As long as work was the only thing you considered taking off

OM45GE - Posted - 06/07/2012:  04:16:36

I was much more stupid back when I thought I knew it all.

dat - Posted - 06/07/2012:  05:40:18

ME TOO!!

I guess the good thing about back then is I'm still alive,   I did a lot of stupid stuff that should have killed me, or somebody else, and everybody made it out safe.  guess I'm glad in a way I did it then so I don't have the urge to try it now.    I can say that I have had fun.   still do, but I'm more cautious now

DeanT - Posted - 06/07/2012:  07:11:34

I've had friends that didn't make it. Sometimes I wonder how I did!

I've been that drunk for days, I remember (or don't most of it)  back one new years we had a duck hunt planned, well, we started celebrating the weekend and getting away to go hunting,  then we never quit.  long weekend then newyears holiday on top of a hunting trip.   I didn't sober up for almost a week.    and called it having fun

I believe you bounce better when drinking, more relaxed than when you see it coming

DeanT - Posted - 06/07/2012:  09:44:29

I started partying at about 14, and woke up in detox at 30... two wives later....

dat - Posted - 06/07/2012:  09:58:35

I'm lucky my bride put up with me, I don't see how she did

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/07/2012:  10:41:19

Maybe the reason I'm still single is because I never really did any drinking until I was in my 30s.

dat - Posted - 06/07/2012:  10:51:26

I believe the first time I got drunk was drinking grape flavored malt duck and schlitz beer, it was the summer after kindergarden, my brother in law left it in the cooler in his truck

DeanT - Posted - 06/07/2012:  11:12:48

My x's drank worse than I did... it killed one of them

OM45GE - Posted - 06/08/2012:  04:39:51

I used to ride with some bad motorcycle dudes. We used to go up to the races in Laconia NH and camp out along the highway along with thousands of other fools. Non-stop partying. I used ti give my bike key to whatever woman I was with with instructions not to give them back no matter what I said until it was time to go home.

DeanT - Posted - 06/10/2012:  14:37:41

Nice three day vacation... Abilene Kansas is a nice little town

OM45GE - Posted - 06/10/2012:  15:12:59

I've been through the area but never spent any time there. What did you do there?

DeanT - Posted - 06/10/2012:  15:29:35

Greyhound convention. That's where the Greyhound hall of fame is, the National Greyhound association, two tracks, and many greyhound farms and thousands of dogs.

OM45GE - Posted - 06/10/2012:  16:34:17

Lots of pooper scoopers? cool

DeanT - Posted - 06/10/2012:  16:44:12

Oh man... I can only imagine the tons of dog poo! Are you on face book, I put some photos there.

Fro some reason it says the content is unavailable.

DeanT - Posted - 06/11/2012:  07:44:14

You have to have and account and be logged in. Or maybe have to be my friend there to... heck I’m still trying to figure out all the ins and outs of FB...

OM45GE - Posted - 06/11/2012:  08:17:01

Yeah, I do have an account. I don't use it much though. Oh well.

Can you train the greyhounds to do this?

DeanT - Posted - 06/11/2012:  09:11:46

Nope... but they have me trained to do that!!! A Lot....

OM45GE - Posted - 06/12/2012:  03:55:13

For some reason Toby prefers to poop for me. My son calls me "Daddy Doggy Ex-Lax". I use plastic bags to do the scooping.
