Judging by his avatar, he started snowboarding and went to the Olympics
DeanT - Posted - 12/24/2014: 10:19:07
Yeah... there's like 10 minutes or so left....that's how fast the year flew...

Since my supervisor retired I've been "acting" in her position (as well as doing my job) and it's been crazy busy. And a little overwhelming.
We just got a notice the other day that, due to budget shortfalls, they're putting a freeze on filling open positions. So my temporary position may last a lot longer than I expected.
OM45GE - Posted - 12/25/2014: 16:59:12
They did the same thing at my company Jennifer. Couldn't backfill people who left so the rest of us have to pick up the slack. No more money though.
DeanT - Posted - 12/25/2014: 17:47:39
Cool, you are the supervisor now! I'm thinking blue jean Fridays and Pizza Wednesdays, and bring your dog to work Mondays?
OM45GE - Posted - 12/26/2014: 06:09:20
When I was running a trucking company I brought my dog to work every day. Can't do that any longer, but I work from home most days so the dog is already there.
DeanT - Posted - 12/26/2014: 06:52:35
Since I'm retired, I could loan my dogs out if someone wants to bring one to work.
OM45GE - Posted - 12/26/2014: 11:50:01
Yeah, Toby sleeps in his bed for a while, then he'll head into the living room and sleep on the rug for a while, then he'll get tired from all that sleeping and go back to his bed for another nap.
DeanT - Posted - 12/26/2014: 18:18:33
Good question! The answer is nope. No insomnia. My greyhounds do wake up long enough to eat and pee and poo... and that tires them out so much they have to take a nap.
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 12/26/2014: 18:42:25
Sometimes when I'm home from work during the day I think "Great! I can play with the dogs!". But they mostly just want to sleep.
OM45GE - Posted - 12/27/2014: 06:24:34
I've read that dogs sleep an average of 18 hours a day. I have no idea how they came up with that or if it's even true, but Toby does about that. Watch out for the other six hours though! He and I have done five miles already.
DeanT - Posted - 12/27/2014: 06:48:24
Greyhounds can beat that! The longest run I can get out of the only one that wants to run... is 2 miles. Laziest dogs in the universe!
chuckv97 - Posted - 12/27/2014: 06:53:19
Is it because Greyounds are hard-wired for shorter sprints?
DeanT - Posted - 12/27/2014: 17:03:45
I think so, greyhounds are only good for about a minute sprint, then it's nap time.
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 12/28/2014: 18:12:22
My dogs have been nothing but hyper since I've been at home visiting my folks.
When I came home back in September to help out after my dad's knee surgery I put them in a kennel for a few days right after Dad got out of hospital. I think they're concerned I'm going to abandon them or something.

I don't know if you guys remember Tango_grass who used to post a lot here in the 300 post thread. He's now playing guitar with Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen. They're most recent album is nominated for a Grammy for Bluegrass Album of the Year.

I just looked up on u tube, they are pretty good, makes me want to crawl deeper into the woods to try to pick

If you play banjo, you can't avoid some "racket". Sort of like a trumpet player. ☺️
OM45GE - Posted - 12/29/2014: 16:08:22
My son plays brass: trumpet, flugel horn, baritone, and piano. With my banjo and guitars, we've got a lot of racket in the house.
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 12/29/2014: 17:23:15
You should hear my dogs when I'm visiting my folks and there's a squirrel in the yard!
DeanT - Posted - 12/30/2014: 06:41:40
we think so... but not quite sure. It might have been one of the neighborhood cats too.
