I'm sure a fair share of them get hit by golf balls and clubs here...

chuckv97 - Posted - 04/28/2014:  07:45:47

Go Toby !

dat - Posted - 04/28/2014:  08:45:54

a dog's gotta have fun

I sure didn't, I had to go to Dallas thursday and friday, glad to be out of that traffic and back here

OM45GE - Posted - 04/28/2014:  08:55:50

Dallas isn't my favorite city.

dat - Posted - 04/28/2014:  10:24:11

'specially with road construction and wrecks,  loop 635 was down to 2 lanes at 5 o clock,  good time to take a nap 'cause the traffic sure wasn't moving

dat - Posted - 04/28/2014:  10:34:54

hole in the ozone,   I hope not to get political or anything with this,   but I was told scientists decided that the hole in the ozone layer is supposed to be there to let out toxins from the earth to space, without it there it would all build up, they explained it like when you're driving down the highway and fart, you gotta roll down the window some

DeanT - Posted - 04/28/2014:  10:58:54

and then the wind blows your hair all over the place

dat - Posted - 04/28/2014:  12:39:00

better blown hair than burned eyes  big

chuckv97 - Posted - 04/28/2014:  13:34:34

So I guess to drive farting, you should have a brush cut ....

OM45GE - Posted - 04/28/2014:  13:49:47

Sounds like a Monty Python skit.

DeanT - Posted - 04/28/2014:  16:35:00

I have a buzz cut so I'm good to go

OM45GE - Posted - 04/29/2014:  03:45:24

There's always hair nets.

DeanT - Posted - 04/29/2014:  05:48:25

those are for the hippies that work at McDonalds

dat - Posted - 04/29/2014:  05:53:03

all the mcdonalds here have preschoolers working, or at least they look pretty young to me

chuckv97 - Posted - 04/29/2014:  06:40:04

Verging on child labour?  But I guess nobody's forcing them to work there. I was out picking strawberries as a summer job when I was 12.

OM45GE - Posted - 04/29/2014:  06:57:02

They look incredibly young to me and I seem to be invisible to them. cool

My dad tried to do some gardening the other day. He was feeling all proud that he's planted some lettuce and stuff. Then he went to physical therapy and they told him he shouldn't be kneeling.

I told him that he should have the grandkids do the gardening for him. They always want money. He said, "They like the concept of earning money. When it comes to actually working, not so much...."

OM45GE - Posted - 04/29/2014:  08:37:38

I'll send my son down. He'd be happy to help.

dat - Posted - 04/29/2014:  08:48:59

we never got paid to do anything around the house or yard, we just got out butts beat if we didn't do anything

OM45GE - Posted - 04/29/2014:  09:30:33

Yeah, we lived there, we helped out.

dat - Posted - 04/29/2014:  10:42:42

yeah, and we sure did't ask for money when working at a friends or another family members house

DeanT - Posted - 04/29/2014:  10:51:40

We never got grounded either... just more farm chores heaped on us.

OM45GE - Posted - 04/29/2014:  11:03:17

I would have preferred getting grounded to getting whacked on my bare legs with dad's belt.

dat - Posted - 04/29/2014:  12:15:54

I hear parents talking about taking their kids phones away as punishment,

please take my phone away for a little bit, I would enjoy it,  actually it would be pretty nice

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/29/2014:  12:48:58

I think my middle niece would have a nervous breakdown if you took away her phone. My parents have been renting a little house on a lake the last few years for a couple of weeks in August and taking the grandkids with them. Three years ago my niece didn't have her phone and apparently it wasn't pretty. The following year she had her phone and everyone was much happier.

DeanT - Posted - 04/29/2014:  19:36:21

I always turn my phone off during gigs, sometimes I forget to turn it back on for several days. No loss.

chuckv97 - Posted - 04/29/2014:  22:15:46

It's crazy nowadays- a friend of mine got mad cuz I took a day to reply to his text about nothing important. Sheesh!

DeanT - Posted - 04/29/2014:  23:26:01

I still don't text. Haven't really figured out what texting is all about. If I got something to tell you, I'll call you. If it's less important I'll e-mail you.

OM45GE - Posted - 04/30/2014:  02:29:32

We have a texting system at work.  The want us to use it for conversational exchanges because it doesn't chew up server space.

dat - Posted - 04/30/2014:  05:45:17

my bride likes me to have my phone, I think it is in my truck somewhere, I looked at it one day last week to see if the battery was charged.  I stay on the phone at work, I don't care to talk on it at home

OM45GE - Posted - 04/30/2014:  06:23:04

How about those telemarketers?

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/30/2014:  07:57:46

I don't enjoy talking on the phone so I'd rather test. I'm one of those antisocial type people. Plus I have low self esteem and always assume whoever I'm calling probably really doesn't want to be interrupted in their day to talk to me--if I text then they can read it whenever.

That being said, I think I've only received like three texts in the last month. I mean outside of the emergency ones I get. Those don't really count since they're not from people.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/30/2014:  07:58:37

Oh wait! I got five texts this month. I forgot that when we were at the conference two of my coworkers texted about meeting up for breakfast.

DeanT - Posted - 04/30/2014:  12:39:06

I'm lucky if I get any calls or texts anytime. I'll bet it's less than ten a year combined. I do most of my communicating on Face Book messenger now.

OM45GE - Posted - 04/30/2014:  13:11:16

I like texting because you can reply when it's convenient.

dat - Posted - 04/30/2014:  13:23:25

or not reply when it isn't.

I do text some, but I'm pretty slow at it, my bride will text me 5 or 6 different things before I can reply to one

I was in a meeting a couple of weeks ago and one of my work buds and I were sitting next to one another texting about the idiot that was blathering on leading the meeting.

DeanT - Posted - 05/01/2014:  05:55:26

Next time text the leader of the meeting...

dat - Posted - 05/01/2014:  06:05:54

yep, pick up the phone for the feller next to you and text to the speaker like you were going to text to somebody else on how the speaker is a putz, then your phone isn't involved and the speaker gets the idea but thinks that the message was miss sent

OM45GE - Posted - 05/01/2014:  06:11:02

That would be called a career limiting move.

I'm impressed.  I mostly use facebook to post cute cat pictures.  Haven't figured out the fancy stuff.

dat - Posted - 05/01/2014:  08:22:42

or the boss could see it as a drive to be better, leadership, ambition, initiative, ya never know 'till you try.

P.S.

have a back up plan jest in case he don't like it to purty much

dat - Posted - 05/01/2014:  08:25:14

I was on face book for about a week   then canceled it

OM45GE - Posted - 05/01/2014:  10:22:44

I have to have FB for work, but I pretty much ignore it.

DeanT - Posted - 05/01/2014:  10:57:08

It took me about 6 months to get a working handle on the advantages of FB, and block/weed out the garbage. Now it's where I spend almost all my on-line time. It's like designing your own personal internet, any way you want it.

OM45GE - Posted - 05/01/2014:  14:46:20

Part of my problem is that I have relatives who are friends on FB. They're nice enough by have drunk some koolaid with a fringe religion and keep posting lots of stuff I just don't care for. It would cause a family tiff if I just unfriend them so I just ignore FB all together.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 05/01/2014:  15:41:49

Yeah, I've got friends in similar situations with their family. I'll admit my older sister occassionally posts something and I have to bite my tongue but mostly I don't have that issue.

DeanT - Posted - 05/01/2014:  15:55:52

I know people who made a FB page for their dog

chuckv97 - Posted - 05/01/2014:  16:12:11

I'm on FB, but don't look me up- I'm paranoid......

OM45GE - Posted - 05/01/2014:  17:42:04

It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.
