I have a mild stutter when I'm tense or nervous and it made me llllllllaugh.
DeanT - Posted - 03/21/2015: 04:45:34
I've not understood why the news/60 minutes/dateline/20-20 doesn't do more follow-up exposing investigating type stories on all the meglachurches.
chuckv97 - Posted - 03/21/2015: 07:21:09
Az Canadian news affairs show went after Benny Hinn a few years ago. I loved it- totally exposed his scam
OM45GE - Posted - 03/23/2015: 03:45:55
Pretty sad and amazing how gullible people can be. A couple of my sisters got into a pseudo Christian cult years ago. The leader made millions off his followers. They worked for free in his gas stations and convenience stores across the U.S. and Canada.
DeanT - Posted - 03/23/2015: 06:25:19
The saddest part of all is that it gives Christianity a bad name, and turns a lot of people off.
dat - Posted - 03/23/2015: 08:58:48
it does that, I'm sure not a good example of a person, but a lot of folks are turned away by the way people act away from church when they claim to be "all that"

Page 357, I wonder if that is 357 sig or 357 mag
a 357 sig is .355 diameter and a 357 mag is ,357 jacketed and .358 lead , so it could be three different pages in one
DeanT - Posted - 03/23/2015: 13:01:11
I sold my S&W 357 model 66 cannon, and bought a Rossi 5 shot .38 special revolver. Much easier to carry.
dat - Posted - 03/23/2015: 13:17:20
the 66 is a good gun, not easy to conceal, but well built and will last, comfortable to shoot for a double action
dat - Posted - 03/24/2015: 06:59:06
10 POUND TRIGGER, whew. I think my heaviest trigger is around 7 or 8 pounds on my 870, could be a little more though, my guv model is at 2.75
DeanT - Posted - 03/24/2015: 13:11:41
one review labeled it as a last chance back-up pocket gun, when all else fails. It does look like it would work well in a back pocket.
OM45GE - Posted - 03/24/2015: 13:51:00
I saw the heavy trigger pull and wondered if they did that to prevent accidental firing. Why else would they?
DeanT - Posted - 03/24/2015: 15:00:03
if you can't pull that trigger, it's probably too much gun for someone
DeanT - Posted - 03/24/2015: 22:35:35
I would hope anyone who ownes something like this would never let a kid touch it!

dat - Posted - 03/25/2015: 05:50:13
heavy trigger helps prevent an accidental pull under a stressful situation, but that is a gun you don't pull out unless you already need and are gonna use it. but 10 is a little much

My dad used to shoot squirrels off the bird feeder with .22 shot shells. It wouldn't kill them but it must of hurt like hell because the tended to stay away after a couple of times.
DeanT - Posted - 03/25/2015: 12:17:18
That's bad to the bone. I'd like to try a .45 in the Heizer. My personal revolver is a .38. Hollow points of course.
dat - Posted - 03/25/2015: 12:20:07
I shot a judge a long time back, the 410 was easier to hold than the 45 colt, neither was bad, but you knew you had a hold of something when you pulled the trigger
OM45GE - Posted - 03/25/2015: 14:40:47
I used to have a stainless Ruger Security Six in .357 Mag. For some reason that packed a wallop. I don't know if it was the angle of the grips or what, but you knew it when you'd run a box through it.
dat - Posted - 03/25/2015: 14:54:02
ruger double actions never really fit me, they are solid made good guns that your great great grandchildren will be able to shoot years from now, a lot of folks love them, but a gun has to fit to be comfortable to shoot
DeanT - Posted - 03/25/2015: 16:03:31
I'm not into hobby shooting like I used to be. Just home defense, and concealed carry now. That's why I like the Heizer. Back pocket flat.
OM45GE - Posted - 03/26/2015: 04:03:47
I don't own any guns any more. I lost interest and didn't want the responsibility of having them in the house.
dat - Posted - 03/26/2015: 05:44:17
I don't shoot near as much as I used to, but I still like the mechanics of a gun and like the being able to make it hit close to where I aim, I don't hunt much anymore, or target shoot as much, but it is still fun to me
DeanT - Posted - 03/26/2015: 06:31:30
Too much crime in our city not to have one in the house, or concealed. But they have to get past 4 dogs first. It's gotten so bad that we don't even carry credit cards and hard to replace stuff in our purses/wallets. Just driver's license and a little cash.
OM45GE - Posted - 03/26/2015: 06:59:56
People return lost wallets around her with the cash still in theme. I'm not saying there's no crime, but it's pretty safe.
dat - Posted - 03/26/2015: 09:22:41
pretty safe around here too, crime happens, but it isn't the normal
dat - Posted - 03/26/2015: 09:48:49
the keys have been in my truck for 12 years now, I have probably taken them out may be a dozen times at most, probably locked it less than that, now my brides car, she locks anytime she isn't in it, even if she is standing right next to it in plane sight
OM45GE - Posted - 03/26/2015: 15:11:48
My wife locks her car when it's locked in the garage. Pisses me off when I go out to get something and have to come back for the keys.
DeanT - Posted - 03/26/2015: 15:47:44
I lock my car in the garage too. All the band's PA equipment is in it, and that's prime theft fodder around here.
OM45GE - Posted - 03/27/2015: 05:27:47
I would lock the car if I had anything valuable like band equipment in there.
She usually doesn't have anything valuable in the car. If they get into our garage (no easy task) they would probably start with my tools and the motorcycles before they went through the cars.
They're welcome to the ice scraper and Altoids in my car.

If anyone were to open a car door in the garage, there would be 4 dogs in the house going totally bonkers, thinking they were going for a ride
OM45GE - Posted - 03/27/2015: 08:34:25
Same here, well, divided by four that is, but Toby wouldn't miss that sound.
chuckv97 - Posted - 03/27/2015: 08:47:23
I always lock my car or truck. My Dad used to say, "Don't tempt people." Michael Moorer did a thing comparing Detroit with Windsor,Ontario which is right across the Detroit River from Motown. He interviewed Windsor people on the street, and most said they didn't lock their doors to their houses, and left keys in their cars. I don't know where he found those folks, but I can guarantee you they sure weren't typical Canadians. It only takes one bad guy out of half a million people to screw up your life. Having said that though, I drive truck around N. America and don't carry a firearm. (I just stick a Banjo decal on my door window- that scares'em off! 😁 )

Funny, that's kinda like " I don't dial 911, I put on my finger picks"

our neighbors dog that adopted us barks at the neighbors when they come visit, or anybody that drives up the driveway

I used to sleep in the truck in Camden New Jersey. Talk about a bad neighborhood! The only saving grace was that the dock we loaded at was about a hundred yards from the guard shack for a Monsanto plant. I never had any problems but one of the other drivers had the guard wake him up to say someone had been trying to get into his trailer. This was before cell phones so you didn't have many options to get help.
dat - Posted - 03/27/2015: 11:53:52
Worst thing I've heard about with truck drivers sleeping in their trucks was the lot lizards knocking on the cab windows and waking you up checking to see if you needed company, most of the guys I knew were just trying to get enough sleep to get back home, didn't want to take a chance on picking up anything to carry on home with them
chuckv97 - Posted - 03/27/2015: 12:12:56
Lot lizards are becoming extinct in a lot of truck stops. Most hire security to patrol periodically, or require fuel or other purchases to use their gated lot. Nowadays with Internet, guys will line up a rendezvous - no need for looking for a hooker.
What keeps truckers fairly safe is parking together- most folks know we're in touch with each other by CB. If you mess with one, you'll have to take on a posse of others. I rarely park anywhere alone, and most drivers welcome any other driver parking near them.
Yeah, Camden, Bill. Sketchy for sure. I usually park out on a NJ Trnpk. travel plaza, or Thorofare T/A.
Del Monte has a parking area- that's where I usually pick up down there.

Our state just voted yes to concealed carry without a permit. Went down to the pawn shop and picked up a nice little Rossi .357
