It's still not really the norm in the admin building.

Dorms are a different story.

dat - Posted - 04/21/2015:  13:38:39

I'll bet most of the old fogies in the admin building did it in the sixties and early seventies,   try it and see ifin it brings a smile of remembrance to their face

DeanT - Posted - 04/21/2015:  13:48:01

it might go viral

It could be the next big thing.

Streaking was one of those things I never did when I was a kid.

dat - Posted - 04/23/2015:  05:41:51

I'm not gonna ask if you do it now,    I never did it as a kid either, and still don't unless I'm at home

DeanT - Posted - 04/23/2015:  06:10:01

we used to wear speedos that's almost streaking

dat - Posted - 04/23/2015:  06:15:15

I only wear speedos when I go to walmart

DeanT - Posted - 04/23/2015:  12:44:59

I went to Wal-Mart dressed normal and felt out of place

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/23/2015:  18:25:36

I try to avoid Walmart as much as possible.

chuckv97 - Posted - 04/23/2015:  19:40:03

A lot of Walmarts allow truck parking, so I end up shopping there often. It's a zoo, for sure (my kind of place...😁)

DeanT - Posted - 04/23/2015:  22:12:22

Lots of power chairs there

OM45GE - Posted - 04/24/2015:  05:18:34

I can't remember the last time I was in a Walmart.

DeanT - Posted - 04/24/2015:  05:21:52

small mini Wal-Marts and gas stations are popping up all over Kansas

OM45GE - Posted - 04/24/2015:  06:04:07

Sounds like they're leaving no retail opportunity unexplored.

dat - Posted - 04/24/2015:  06:18:37

I stay away from walmart too,  I did se a mini walmart a while back,  didn't stop though

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/24/2015:  07:54:19

Honestly I think the only thing I've ever purchased at Walmart is yarn, because I ran out of what I was using and Michaels was out of that color.  That must have been seven or eight years ago.

I go into the one near me occasionally if there's something I'm looking for (like I've been trying to find a new kitchen table for years) and I'm not finding it anywhere else.

Oh!  I almost forgot.  I think I bought some fishing line there, because I needed it to replace the brake band on my spinning wheel and Walmart is closer than Kmart.  I probably should have just found someone who had fishing line and asked if they could cut me a couple yards.  The brake band is only about 20 inches long.  I have enough fishing line to last me several lifetimes.  I did try spinning with some, but it kinks something terrible.

OM45GE - Posted - 04/24/2015:  10:51:23

A sweater made out of monofilament would be interesting.

dat - Posted - 04/24/2015:  11:41:39

and uncomfortable, but you wouldn't have to worry about the rain shrinking it

DeanT - Posted - 04/24/2015:  13:00:23

We flew our kites with fishing line.

dat - Posted - 04/24/2015:  15:24:25

that is a good idea, never thought about it but it's stronger than kite string

DeanT - Posted - 04/24/2015:  16:21:24

And a lot easier reeling it back in! It was actually my Dad's idea, and worked really good

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/24/2015:  17:50:54

I was knitting a bowl with the yarn I spun, so it didn't need to be comfortable.  Never finished it.  I run into it every once in awhile and think I should.

DeanT - Posted - 04/24/2015:  23:06:48

what does one do with a yarn bowl?

OM45GE - Posted - 04/25/2015:  05:23:03

Well, you sure couldn't use it  as a soup bowl.

DeanT - Posted - 04/25/2015:  06:44:16

or a dog water dish

dat - Posted - 04/25/2015:  06:53:51

if you had yarn bowls, you wouldn't need a colander

dmiller - Posted - 04/25/2015:  08:26:56

My ex was a spinner/ weaver/ knitter/ and tatted lace as well.  Whenever she went somewhere, she always had two bags on her shoulder.  One was her purse and the other held al her current knitting/ sewing projects. She knitted a lot of things  - - but I never did hear of a yarn bowl until today.

DeanT - Posted - 04/25/2015:  08:48:20

You could fill it full of little yarn Cheerios

chuckv97 - Posted - 04/25/2015:  11:29:56

Spinning a yarn? Isn't that telling a whopper of a story? But bowl?.......hmmmm.....

OM45GE - Posted - 04/25/2015:  13:13:38

My ski hat is bowl shaped.

DeanT - Posted - 04/25/2015:  19:46:56

I've never skied, but if I did I'd need a helmet

dmiller - Posted - 04/25/2015:  21:09:02

The only skiing I've ever done is X-C (cross country) skiing. out on the trails through the woods. You don't really need a helmet for x-c skiing - - but there WAS one time (20 or so years ago) when I almost collided with a big buck deer that was on the same path I was and neither of us saw the other until the last moment.

DeanT - Posted - 04/25/2015:  23:29:48

I have a Nordic Track cross country ski machine, my cat likes to chase the skis when i ride it

OM45GE - Posted - 04/26/2015:  07:44:07

I do wear a helmet skiing. The ski hat is keep my head warm when I'm not skiing.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/26/2015:  17:56:04

You can put your extra yarn in a knitted bowl, although it does feel a little cannibalistic.

Between Nancy's "handsome stranger" thread and this one, I think I'm losing my mind

DeanT - Posted - 04/26/2015:  22:18:35

I lost mine in the bottom of a Jim Beam bottle a long time ago

dmiller - Posted - 04/27/2015:  10:18:12

I haven't lost mine entirely (yet), but all the past years of beer and bourbon sure have taken their toll on the old brain cells.  Takes me longer to think of and remember things (these days) than it used to.

chuckv97 - Posted - 04/27/2015:  12:33:05

Booze, pills and concussions haven't killed me , but the jury's still out on insanity

DeanT - Posted - 04/27/2015:  14:11:45

I can't remember if I'm insane or not

dat - Posted - 04/27/2015:  14:23:13

I've always figured I wouldn't mind loosing my mind,  I wouldn't know it if I did,  now loosing physical abilities, you know that you've lost that when you do,
