Buff up!

DeanT - Posted - 06/02/2014:  23:06:46

and get a tan

OM45GE - Posted - 06/03/2014:  02:40:27

Don't they spray those on for photo shoots?

DeanT - Posted - 06/03/2014:  05:48:04

I think they can do anything with photoshop now, so we will be tan beefcakes no matter what

dat - Posted - 06/03/2014:  06:38:10

I never did tan well, I just burn and peel,

OM45GE - Posted - 06/03/2014:  06:42:15

That's a relief Dean, there's hope for my modeling career yet.

I don't tan well either Daniel. I use a ton of sunscreen. I had skin cancer from burns I got as a kid so I'm pretty obsessive about it.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/03/2014:  08:15:38

I tan super easy so I pretty much always have the yucky farmers tan thing going on.

chuckv97 - Posted - 06/03/2014:  09:47:19

I usually get truckers' tan- my left arm and side of my face. Some day I'll set up a system of mirrors to get the other side.

dat - Posted - 06/03/2014:  09:59:31

or when we move to Austrailia, you'll be driving on the wrong side of the road anyway and get a tan on the right side

DeanT - Posted - 06/03/2014:  10:53:59

I'm always tan from running every day. It's going to do me in someday too. My sister and dad have both had a bunch of cancer areas removed. Do I listen and heed the warning? No.

OM45GE - Posted - 06/03/2014:  14:04:15

I get tanned in spite of using a lot of sunblock because I'm outside all the time. But its always the pale skinned type of tans that not many aspire to.

dat - Posted - 06/03/2014:  14:41:29

I'll get a farmers tan, neck and arms, but the rest of me isn't out enough to do more than burn

DeanT - Posted - 06/03/2014:  16:30:53

you could always go to a fake bake place

ErikH - Posted - 06/04/2014:  02:22:15

I've go the farmer's tan thing going, too.  Face, neck, arms and legs.  Usually my left arm is slightly darker from hanging it out of the car window.

DeanT - Posted - 06/04/2014:  05:43:29

I've discovered that getting older and wearing a hat in the sun is a good idea

OM45GE - Posted - 06/04/2014:  05:57:06

I wear a Panama hat most of the time in the summer.

chuckv97 - Posted - 06/04/2014:  09:14:20

I like the wind and sun in my hair,so no hat. My hair goes slightly blonde (no jokes pls :-) , and camouflages some of the gray - yeah,vanity,vanity....

DeanT - Posted - 06/04/2014:  10:11:53

I don't like the sunburn head... make hair combing painful

dat - Posted - 06/04/2014:  10:27:02

my hair bleaches pretty light in the sun,  I usually wear a ball cap, which doesn't protect the ears, neck from the sun

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/04/2014:  12:36:21

I wear a hat if I go out in the morning before I've had a shower so I don't scare the neighbors with my bed hair.

dat - Posted - 06/04/2014:  12:53:34

My hair is short enough that it doesn't matter if I comb it or not, it looks about the same

OM45GE - Posted - 06/04/2014:  13:26:03

Mine too. I remember the days when it was well past my shoulders. I don't know why I bothered.

dat - Posted - 06/04/2014:  14:23:15

Long hair covers tha ears better from the sun, less chance of cancer

DeanT - Posted - 06/04/2014:  15:15:42

My hair was halfway down my back when i joined the military. Since I retired i tried to grow it long again... only to look like an escaped convict. back to short from now on. That's why I don't do a beard or mustache either... I look like white trash real quick

dat - Posted - 06/04/2014:  15:20:37

I used to have longer hair, kinda like a mullett, only a shorter version ( it was the mid 80"s)   long hair and laying under a car on a creeper with your hair close to the rollers don't wort to purty good, not to mention the oil and antifreeze on the ground under the cars

ErikH - Posted - 06/05/2014:  02:23:22

I had a mullet in the 80's, too.  Now I keep it so short I don't have to comb it.  I usually tie a bandana on my head pirate style when I'm working in the yard, but that's more for sweat than sun protection.  I've found that when you keep your hair stubble length, there isn't much to keep the sweat from pouring into your eyes.

DeanT - Posted - 06/05/2014:  05:54:20

That's why I like winter much better

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/05/2014:  05:57:11

I was out last night to see George and he's got an infection in his legs, so I was trying to clean them and the sweat was just pouring into my face. I feel like I'm sweating more as I've gotten older. Or maybe it's just as I've gotten out of shape.

chuckv97 - Posted - 06/05/2014:  07:01:11

Me too. I just have to look at a broom and I begin to sweat/perspire. lol. Ya,I think it's called out-of-shape...

horses "sweat", men "perspire", and women "feel the heat"

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/05/2014:  08:43:54

Especially after they go through the change.

dat - Posted - 06/05/2014:  09:24:14

my sister says that she has her own personal summers

chuckv97 - Posted - 06/05/2014:  10:20:40

I have personal winters

OM45GE - Posted - 06/05/2014:  10:36:44

Is that a good thing?

DeanT - Posted - 06/05/2014:  10:41:33

I'd take any kind of winter. I'm already sick of this summer. I'm actually in the best shape of my life, and still sweat just thinking about going outside.

dat - Posted - 06/05/2014:  10:52:21

I always liked summer better than winter, I can't put on enough clothes to keep my fingers working when it's cold

OM45GE - Posted - 06/05/2014:  13:45:54

I like just about any time of the year. I have things I like to do summer or winter. I walk/hike 4 to 10 miles a day 365 days a year regardless of the weather. It's all good.I figure I only have so many days on this earth and I try to enjoy every one of them.

Yeah, and I don't figure I have as many left as I have already used up

DeanT - Posted - 06/05/2014:  17:51:45

That's why I run every day. I'm making the grim reaper work for it

chuckv97 - Posted - 06/05/2014:  21:04:23

You guys are to be admired. All I seem to be able to do exercise-wise is walk 20 min.a day,and go swimming a few times a month.

DeanT - Posted - 06/05/2014:  22:59:07

Anything is better than nothing!

ErikH - Posted - 06/06/2014:  02:24:47

You guys are making me feel guilty.  I've gotta get my fat butt back on the elliptical machine.

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2014:  06:00:13

In the military we used to say "you can rest when you're sleeping"

dat - Posted - 06/06/2014:  06:55:04

I like to rest, I usually sit back and relax around 9:30 or 10 in the evening and rest 'till around 5:30 or so in the morning

OM45GE - Posted - 06/06/2014:  12:44:09

I know a guy who gets his exercise jumping to conclusions.

dat - Posted - 06/06/2014:  13:31:11

I do ten sit ups every morning. It might not sound like much, but there are only so many times you can hit the snooze button.

OM45GE - Posted - 06/06/2014:  13:36:19

LOL.

Let's not forget 12 ounce arm curls.

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2014:  15:50:23

I actually do sit-ups every morning for real... 100. Then 100 push-ups and 100 squats. Heck of a way to wake up.

chuckv97 - Posted - 06/06/2014:  19:59:21

I splash ice cold water on my face- then shuffle into the kitchen for coffee. When I'm home ,that is.

DeanT - Posted - 06/06/2014:  23:46:15

From last weekend: It's fun whupping up on kids less than half my age
