You too..........I'm struggling with this browser

Alaina - Posted - 01/11/2013:  15:36:10

Don't worry, I'm sure your computer misses you too

DeanT - Posted - 01/11/2013:  22:35:08

I'm beat, fun bar gig. I'm getting to old for the late nights though...

ErikH - Posted - 01/12/2013:  05:19:45

Me too.  Most week nights I'm in bed before nine.

DeanT - Posted - 01/12/2013:  09:05:31

Me too! 10 at the latest. Then the weekend comes and we play late and it's getting harder all the time!

mbanjo - Posted - 01/12/2013:  14:37:02

I sometimes go to bed as early as 7.30 and watch a movie or read a book for a couple of hours.

DeanT - Posted - 01/12/2013:  15:25:48

Playing out again tonight... Gonna sleeeeeeep in tomorrow!

ErikH - Posted - 01/12/2013:  15:32:15

I get up early, too.  I'm usually up by six on the weekends.  I get up at 3:30 during the week.

mbanjo - Posted - 01/12/2013:  15:56:01

That's real early Eric............what do you do for a living?

ErikH - Posted - 01/12/2013:  18:07:10

I'm a supervisor for the local school district.  I usually get into the office about 5 am.  I could sleep a little later and still get in at that time, but I like to mope and have coffee before I leave in the morning.

mbanjo - Posted - 01/12/2013:  18:56:08

Too early for me.......until last year I got up at 4.30 every day .........but 3 am is cruel.............I don't think god gets up that early :-)

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/12/2013:  20:11:57

I get up around 7:30 so I can leave by 8 and get to work by 8:30.

mbanjo - Posted - 01/12/2013:  20:38:24

Now !........that's a more humane time to get up in the morning :-)

ErikH - Posted - 01/13/2013:  04:11:44

I'm not sure I could sleep in that late anymore.

DeanT - Posted - 01/13/2013:  08:43:26

fun night last night... slept in till 9 this morning. Hard to sleep in with dog licking face... my K9 alarm clock...

mbanjo - Posted - 01/13/2013:  16:48:58

When I retired from work it took me a whole year before I could sleep longer in the mornings .........even now I jump up as soon as I wake.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/13/2013:  18:19:54

I made an appointment to have Comcast come to see if they could figure out my internet problems. 8am this morning. It was the one day this week I might have been able to sleep in. Ah well. It got me up and out of bed and I think he might have fixed the problem (at least tonight it's working well) and I went in to my second job after to get some work done. We're doing inventory so despite the fact that I wasn't scheduled the boss lady was willing to pay so that it gets done on time. We got a lot done today. Hopefully we'll be done by next weekend.

ErikH - Posted - 01/14/2013:  02:18:45

I would have been nice to sleep in today.

mbanjo - Posted - 01/14/2013:  04:08:15

Don't worry Erik ,.......I will sleep in for you.:-)

dat - Posted - 01/14/2013:  07:07:59

I usually get up around 6 during the week, leave the house at 6:30, then get home about 6:15 in the evening

DeanT - Posted - 01/14/2013:  07:13:05

got up at 6:15, said to heck with it, went back to sleep till 8. Lets see, what am I going to do today...

dat - Posted - 01/14/2013:  08:11:46

I got up around 3 the first time to put some wood on the fire then went back to bed, all this global warming is about to freeze me out

Alaina - Posted - 01/14/2013:  10:28:47

I didn't get up before 9 all weekend, and then had to get up at 5 this morning... It was a very cruel morning

dat - Posted - 01/14/2013:  11:19:33

nuthin like watching the sun rise though, it's pretty nice

Alaina - Posted - 01/14/2013:  11:48:23

It's really nice when the sun rises at 8 big

dat - Posted - 01/14/2013:  11:50:31

most of the time a sunset is easier to find time to watch than a sunrise

Alaina - Posted - 01/14/2013:  11:53:05

And most of the time I am awake during the sunset lol

dat - Posted - 01/14/2013:  12:16:55

the sun rises behind me and to the right side on the way to work, I don't watch it rise much except in the rearview mirror

My parents have been enjoying their retirement, sleeping in until 8 or 9 (used to be 9 or 10 but then they got a dog who barks every morning around 8 so Dad gets up then and Mom gets up an hour or so later).

My folks just got custody of my youngest niece, though (there's some serious crap going on back home--I'm very stressed), and they need to get up at 5:30 in order to be able to get her to school.

the joys of parenting

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/14/2013:  13:55:14

I had been thinking very seriously of moving back to Indiana but I think if I did right now I'd end up with custody of one or more of my sister's kids. I'm really not sure I want to be a parent.

Alaina - Posted - 01/14/2013:  14:05:43

I'm sorry to hear that things aren't going well for your family. I hope everything gets better soon :)

dat - Posted - 01/14/2013:  14:05:44

I think being a grand parent will be fun

Alaina - Posted - 01/14/2013:  14:07:22

My grandparents love it, saying that they get to do everything that they couldn't do as parents (spoiling the child, giving them sweets and whatnot, being the friend and not having to discipline, that kind of thing) and my folks are looking forward to it even though they made me promise not to make them grandparents before at least my dad is 50 lol

dat - Posted - 01/14/2013:  14:27:28

I'm guessing I'll be around 45 or 46 , so I should have a couple of years, our oldest girl will be 22 in march and is getting married in may, they're not in a hurry to have kids, but I'll be expecting it soon after

Alaina - Posted - 01/14/2013:  14:30:15

Dad will be 48 this month, and I'm the oldest, so I figure that by the time I get married, he will be at least 50 and I'll be in the clear to give them grandkids whenever my future husband and I decide we're ready

ErikH - Posted - 01/14/2013:  15:44:16

I'm 47 and I'm not ready to be a grandparent, yet.

Alaina - Posted - 01/14/2013:  15:56:15

How old are your kid(s)?

ErikH - Posted - 01/14/2013:  16:09:06

He's only 15, so I hope I have at least seven years.  Ideally 10.

Alaina - Posted - 01/14/2013:  16:17:19

I completely understand why you don't want to be a grandparent yet!

DeanT - Posted - 01/14/2013:  17:15:36

My daughters are 29 and 24... no grandkids yet.

mbanjo - Posted - 01/14/2013:  21:51:09

I've got four grandkids, but I don't get to see them all that often owing to distance. Its always great when they do visit though.

ErikH - Posted - 01/15/2013:  02:18:10

I've got neices and nephews and that's plenty.  My wife's brother and his wife have a little monster they never watch.  I usually have a headache by the time were done with get-togethers on her side.

dat - Posted - 01/15/2013:  06:05:45

Don't forget about baking cookies with grandma and the kids making a mess just because they know she won't get upset! My cousins and I did that once, we covered the floor in flour and played in it for a good 30 minutes. She filmed us, saying that she wanted to remember when we were all together and laughing as hard as we were. It was sooo much fun!

dat - Posted - 01/15/2013:  09:24:40

I remember that we didn't make a mess in our grandmothers kitchen, she was nice as she could be, but some things you just didn't do, and when she gave you "that look"  you knew to stop what ever it was you were doing.   she would bend over backwards for you, but even as a kid she didn't take less than she knew you could do

Alaina - Posted - 01/15/2013:  09:26:35

She sounds sweet smiley

Me, too.  Well, no birds.  But plenty of the others.
