I'm driving to Bonneville this August. Should I drop him off on the way through?
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 05/28/2012: 09:08:06
I had a dream last night that I had three greyhounds and a mastiff plus my two current dogs and I was trying to take them all for a walk.
OM45GE - Posted - 05/29/2012: 02:02:44
That's the plan. He's a lot of fun - one of the happiest dogs I've known, but he'll be happier with his boy.
dat - Posted - 05/29/2012: 05:49:58
WHEW, GOOD MORNING YA'LL.
made it back home about 9:30 last light, great weekend, got top watch my niece graduate high school then spent lots of time with the family, glad to be home
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 05/29/2012: 06:59:29
Last night I dreamed this guy I knew from college and his wife and their three children came to visit and we were running around doing all sorts of touristy stuff.
I woke up completely exhausted!

Tonight you need to dream about relaxing on a tropical island while getting a warm oil massage from a muscle bound native
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 05/29/2012: 07:20:13
As long as there's no sand on the tropical island. I hate getting sand in my clothes. It itches something terrible!
dat - Posted - 05/29/2012: 07:55:58
I think I still have sand in my truck from the beach last year. it sticks with you
OM45GE - Posted - 05/29/2012: 09:12:01
That's why they don't wear much clothing on tropical islands!
DeanT - Posted - 05/29/2012: 16:50:45
They just said on the news to stay out of our local river because of pollution. Just great... we take the dogs down there a lot...
DeanT - Posted - 05/30/2012: 07:14:55
Heavy concentration of some kind of green algie whatever that is.
OM45GE - Posted - 05/30/2012: 07:17:37
LOL!
A guy was caught on tape peeing in a local reservoir and the water authorities drained the entire thing. I guess they couldn't grasp the concept of dilution. They were also surprised at what was at the bottom - animal carcasses, baggies of dog poop, dead fish, old tires and some batteries - yum!
DeanT - Posted - 05/30/2012: 07:25:07
I know for a fact there is dog pee in our river. I couldn't imagine what else...
dat - Posted - 05/30/2012: 08:45:05
hard to believe that the authorities didn't realize stuff would be in the water
the solution to pollution is dilution

a lady that works with my bride went to work the other day and told my bride that she had bought a pack of cigarettes and was thinking about smoking one, never has smoked before but heard that they would relax you. my bride told her that since she was 30 years old now and never has smoked, don't start, throw them away.
it's been a few years since I quit copenhagen, but typing this I kinda want some right now. glad I ain't gonna buy any though. I don't think you ever loose the craving, you just gotta say no
DeanT - Posted - 05/31/2012: 11:45:22
I quit smoking and skoal both on Sep. 8 2006. The cravings are as strong as they've ever been. Just shorter. Like just seconds now. If I'm ever given two weeks to live... i'm getting a case of Jim Beam and a carton of Winston reds, and I'm going out in style.
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 05/31/2012: 12:12:56
I've never smoked but when I'm stressed I've occasionally been tempted. Just the whole routine of opening a pack and lighting up has a certain appeal to me. But I know myself well enough to know I'd never quit.
And now that I'm over 40 starting something like that would be just plain stupid.
dat - Posted - 05/31/2012: 12:32:09
to me an unlit cigarette smells good, a cigarette when it is first lit with a zippo smells good, after that they don't smell to purty good anymore.
I think I'm with you on that Dean, but it's copenhagen instead of winstons
DeanT - Posted - 05/31/2012: 15:05:20
My wife still smokes. I love the smell, and don't mind a little second hand blowing my way. But she smokes menthol, so she doesn't have to worry about me taking her smokes. Yuck... like smoking a candy cane.
OM45GE - Posted - 05/31/2012: 15:17:24
I smoked pipes and cigars but stopped when Ethan got old enough to know what I was doing. I still miss them.
dat - Posted - 06/01/2012: 06:37:58
a pipe always smells good, I never chewed pipe tobacco, but have thought about it
banjoscotty - Posted - 06/01/2012: 07:58:32
Hi Folks,,I quit strong drink and smoking back in 71.The desire left rather quickly too.
I've not once looked back on either one of them.Did I save any money. No I didn't but
I didn't spend none on the drinks or smokes either.
DeanT - Posted - 06/01/2012: 08:06:38
I don't think I could survive the hangovers like I used to. Every time I get a drinking urge, that's what I remember. I quit drinking in 91. That was a lot easier than tobacco.
dat - Posted - 06/01/2012: 09:07:38
my bride still smokes cigarettes, she buys a pack every friday and it'll last the week, if she runs out she still waits 'till the next friday to get another one. I figure if I bought a can of copenhagen, I wouldn't have that much self control. if I could keep it to a can a week I wouldn't have quit
OM45GE - Posted - 06/01/2012: 09:23:47
I still have a humidor filled with good cigars. Every once and a while I'll take one out and enjoy the aroma, but I haven't put a flame to one for six years.
dat - Posted - 06/01/2012: 10:04:23
I puffed on a cigar about 8 or 9 years ago, a hunting buddy of mine would bring cigars on hunting/ drinking trips sometimes, I don't think I've ever smoked a 20 dollar cigar except when he was around
OM45GE - Posted - 06/01/2012: 10:43:13
All this talk about cigars is putting me in the mood. Must be strong!
dat - Posted - 06/01/2012: 10:51:47
you can do it, nuthin to it. don' need no stinkin' see' garr anyhow
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 06/01/2012: 12:20:07
My dad didn't smoke when my parents got married but started smoking a pipe shortly after they got married. My mom HATES smoke--cigarette, pipe, cigar.... She said many times if she'd known my dad would start smoking she's not sure she would have married him. But I guess it wasn't enough to make her divorce him. Still I know she hated it and he pretty much ignored how much she hated it and never made any attempt to quit.
Then about two years ago Dad had a pulmonary embolism and was in the hospital for a week. After the doctors told him he needed to quit smoking or risk it happening again and killing him. He came back from the doctor's appointment and packed up his pipes and has never smoked since.
Mom's happy enough that he quit but I think she's pretty bitter that it was apparently that easy for him and yet he never made an attempt to quit for her sake.

Oh well. Maybe one of these instead:

I could drink just about any strong drink about now. NEVER think you can be a toilet mechanic, and turn the valve to shut the water off to the toilet. Because when rusty old line breaks off at the floor, your day goes to $hit in seconds. Especially when the first plummer has to call his boss to come help two hours later.
dat - Posted - 06/01/2012: 14:12:31
every time I do a plumbing project, I'll always end up with a lot more new parts on the house than I had planned on to start with
OM45GE - Posted - 06/01/2012: 14:15:32
Projects always seem to have a way of expanding out of control for me too.
