I wonder if they'll let me take my reloading equipment to the rest home

OM45GE - Posted - 10/09/2012:  10:26:07

Probably not. They're just not appreciative of hobbies.

DeanT - Posted - 10/09/2012:  12:22:56

I'm definitely going to a rest home that will let me have a dog

OM45GE - Posted - 10/09/2012:  12:28:22

I used to bring my Golden to nursing homes for pet therapy.

DeanT - Posted - 10/09/2012:  12:46:00

We've done the same with our greyhounds

dat - Posted - 10/09/2012:  13:57:23

by the time I get there, I won't know if I have a dog or banjo or what, I figure I'll loose my mind and not know much of anything.   my bride will put me in the rest home 'cause I'm wandering around the woods nakkid and don't know any body.   I figure that'll be better than having a great mind and my body not work, at least I won't realize I'm not all there

DeanT - Posted - 10/09/2012:  17:16:01

Wait just a minute here... what happened to doomsday?

OM45GE - Posted - 10/10/2012:  05:01:04

It came and went without a whimper.

dat - Posted - 10/10/2012:  07:10:41

when was it?

DeanT - Posted - 10/10/2012:  07:43:07

I though we were looking at Dec 21....

dat - Posted - 10/10/2012:  08:18:08

OK, so we don't have to worry about a rest home then, just get  enough whiz and enough tobacco to last through most of december

DeanT - Posted - 10/10/2012:  08:36:43

good plan!

dat - Posted - 10/10/2012:  09:03:41

OM45GE - Posted - 10/10/2012:  11:29:13

I'll say.

DeanT - Posted - 10/10/2012:  13:19:44

Pretty good guitar player too!

OM45GE - Posted - 10/11/2012:  04:54:42

Nice cross picking for sure

DeanT - Posted - 10/11/2012:  07:44:54

He just needs a banjo player and a Basset Hound

dat - Posted - 10/11/2012:  09:02:29

a banjo player and a basset hound would help out with most anything

dat - Posted - 10/11/2012:  09:47:25

Doesn't Mary Cox have bassets?

dat - Posted - 10/11/2012:  09:48:45

sho nuff    youtube.com/watch?v=ULm4PxwJtU4

DeanT - Posted - 10/11/2012:  11:36:14

Elvis and Priscilla :). I didn't know bassets could move that fast. I want one. What's wrong with me, I already have three big dogs...

dat - Posted - 10/11/2012:  11:39:05

but do you have any big dogs with short legs?

DeanT - Posted - 10/11/2012:  11:53:40

That slobber all over the place?

dat - Posted - 10/11/2012:  12:31:19

think of it this way, the slobber will stay low,     well unless they shake their heads

OM45GE - Posted - 10/11/2012:  14:45:41

Then - stand back and grab the face masks!

DeanT - Posted - 10/11/2012:  14:54:40

Our lead singer has a basset... king of slobber. I love that dog!

OM45GE - Posted - 10/12/2012:  03:12:17

We had a Newfoundland growing up and my brother had one a while back. Those guys slobbered bucketfuls. It seemed as though they didn't drink enough water to produce it all.

dat - Posted - 10/12/2012:  06:19:42

we had a saint bernard, he could slobber well too,  good to have labs, they only slobber when you're teasing them with food for a long time before you give it to them

OM45GE - Posted - 10/12/2012:  06:49:48

I won't say NEVER, but Toby the Springer rarely slobbers at all.

DeanT - Posted - 10/12/2012:  07:04:12

Greyhounds dont slobber either

OM45GE - Posted - 10/12/2012:  08:33:01

I've seen Toby do it a little when he's been wrestling with another dog for a long time, but as a rule, nothing.

Of course, when he takes a drink of water he seems to save about a quart in his lips and spreads that all over the floor on his way to laying his head in my lap to leave a big stain on my pants. cool

DeanT - Posted - 10/12/2012:  09:27:24

Our dorky male sticks his whole head in the water bucket. My avitar girl sloshes more water out of the bucket than she gets in her mouth!

BTW... I saw Niffer on face book last night.

OM45GE - Posted - 10/12/2012:  09:43:56

Is she avoiding us?

DeanT - Posted - 10/12/2012:  10:16:04

I don't know!

If you're on FB, do a search for Niffer, you'll find her

I have to admit... I'm spending more and more time on FB and less on forums... and the internet evolves....

dat - Posted - 10/12/2012:  10:30:31

I had a female lab that would drink from the bottom of a bucket, I guess the water at the bottom tasted better than the water on the top,  she would get finished drinking then have a head that was wet up past her ears

DeanT - Posted - 10/12/2012:  10:53:25

That's what our male greyhound does exactly!

Alaina - Posted - 10/12/2012:  11:19:40

I used to have an English Mastiff who would slobber so bad that he would have shoestring-like drool trails literally touching the floor... Now I have a basset who likes to let his ears float in his water bowl and then he mops the floor with them. It's pretty gross haha

OM45GE - Posted - 10/12/2012:  12:48:44

Welcome to the BHO Alaina.

DeanT - Posted - 10/12/2012:  18:31:22

I used to have three Bassets (25 years ago) and I really want another one! I love my Greyhounds... but they need a trouble maker to stir things up a bit...

mbanjo - Posted - 10/12/2012:  22:36:16

St. Peter said to the new arrival: "I'm sorry you will have to be satisfied with the harp. We don't have banjos here"

DeanT - Posted - 10/13/2012:  00:18:57
