Rory Block is a favorite of mine. She has a good song on cheating.
dat - Posted - 02/26/2016: 09:00:05
she just started liking cheating songs and what's bothering me, is I don't know if it's the cheatin' she likes or just the melody
DeanT - Posted - 02/26/2016: 15:48:38
Oh It's sad to belong to someone else when the right one comes along....
chuckv97 - Posted - 02/26/2016: 16:05:40
I seem to meet more available ladies when I already have one.......wonder why that is?
OM45GE - Posted - 02/27/2016: 04:43:43
If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with.
chuckv97 - Posted - 02/27/2016: 05:08:57
Or like the Commander Cody song ,"It Shoulda Been Me with that Real Fine Chick"
OM45GE - Posted - 02/27/2016: 09:15:23
Must be a lot of hanky panky going on to inspire all these songs.

Johnny McKenzie used to play for the Boston Bruins

He did indeed. I liked watching him play. He always seemed to go all out all the time.

When I followed Hockey, Phil Espiseto was playing for Boston, and his Brother Tony was Chicago's goalie
dat - Posted - 03/01/2016: 07:44:15
I never have watched hockey more than just a bit here and there, but I do remember this great one
chuckv97 - Posted - 03/01/2016: 08:28:41
Phil Esposito and Johnny McKenzie both played Junior hockey in my hometown, then went on to the Chicago Blackhawks until they were traded to the Bruins. That cartoon is a classic, Daniel - haven't seen that one in years. lol

Stan Mekita and Bobby Hull are a couple other names I remember
chuckv97 - Posted - 03/01/2016: 15:38:58
Mikita grew up in my hometown, St. Catharines, after he was sent by his parents from Czechoslovakia to his uncle's home. Bobby Hull and later his brother Dennis also both played Junior A in St. Catharines. Stan, unfortunately, is suffering now from Alzheimer's - he doesn't make it to Blackhawk games at the United Center anymore. Here's a photo of Stan and Bobby in the 1950's with the St. Catharines TeePees. (sorry to turn this into a hockey thread - if you bring up hockey you'll never shut me up....lol)

I'm right there with you Chuck, but I confess I lost a lot of interest with the expansions.
DeanT - Posted - 03/02/2016: 06:53:16
Wow! You know your Hockey! When we were kids, we all tried to slap shot like Bobby Hull, and do the Tony Esposito Flop.
chuckv97 - Posted - 03/02/2016: 07:20:47
My favourite hockey saying is "odd man rush". Every sport seems to have humorous sounding terminology. Baseball has "go yard" and "chin music".

My ex-father-in law made it as far as the Blackhawks training camp back in the late 50's but he got homesick and quit. He taught me a lot about the game and made it a lot more interesting. He use to tell a story about a non-French speaking friend who was watching a game on TV broadcast in French. He asked my father-in-law which player this "Rondelle" guy was who seemed to be all over the place.

I knew a driver from Nebraska who said the wind there didn't blow, it sucked.
chuckv97 - Posted - 03/03/2016: 08:13:11
Driving all day with a cross wind gives me an aching arm the next day

With all the new technology they have on cars these days, you can almost do that.
dat - Posted - 03/03/2016: 12:53:00
cars nowadays are crazy, a GM car can be driven by a computer somewhere who knows where, ON Star connects it through satellite to computers that can control all the modules in it, which control the electrical, anti lock brakes have an electric pump, electric power steering, lane departure and object detection sensors, GPS location and camera, all you do is act like you are controlling it, the computer actually does. soon they will have car to car communication so the car knows the car ahead is stopping or speeding up before you do.
I'm sure all car brands are pretty much the same
DeanT - Posted - 03/03/2016: 17:05:18
I wonder how long it will be until old fashioned computerless cars are illegal
dmiller - Posted - 03/03/2016: 22:13:10
That's a distinct possibility and given the way folks think these days - - - probably sooner than later.
Robert Zimmerman was right when he sang "The Times They Are a'Changing"
