Seems to me those would be inefficient. You'd have to stop to open up the cooler to get another drink!
dat - Posted - 10/12/2011: 09:03:38
that reminds me of a guy on the deerlease that drives up from Austin, he said that he likes the lease 'cause he can drink and drive legally.
dat - Posted - 10/13/2011: 07:00:13
we have miles and miles of trails though the lease, you can drive for a while and never realize that you are lost
DeanT - Posted - 10/13/2011: 07:47:48
I was mad, because one place cancelled a gig. But then a new place called out of the blue... and booked us twice later this month. Sometimes things just work out fine.
dat - Posted - 10/13/2011: 08:27:53
they probably allow coolers, but the cooler haulers have to go through a background check
flake - Posted - 10/13/2011: 11:48:14
We'll just run a National Agency Check on anybody with a cooler.......anything above that and they'll probably start dragging up how much I owe Columbia Record Club.![]()

DeanT - Posted - 10/13/2011: 14:42:33
Is the Columbia record club still around? I probably owe them too... from like 40 years ago...
dat - Posted - 10/14/2011: 05:57:41
if they are still around, they're probably owned by a company in china
DeanT - Posted - 10/14/2011: 07:23:04
I left home, and my parents kept getting 8 tracks in the mail...
dat - Posted - 10/14/2011: 07:25:59
any KC and the Sunshine Band 8 tracks? or were there more Earth Wind and Fire 8 tracks
DeanT - Posted - 10/14/2011: 11:10:00
I'm thinking probably Hendrix and Bay City Rollers, with some Captain & Tonille
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 10/14/2011: 12:57:47
I used to get lots of DVDs sent to me. I just refused them all. They finally stopped sending them.
DeanT - Posted - 10/17/2011: 00:52:42
I think I'm finally old enough to not want to carve a pumpkin this year...
dat - Posted - 10/17/2011: 06:14:29
I like to carve a pumpkin ifin it's already baked in a pie and has a little cool whip on top
DeanT - Posted - 10/17/2011: 07:22:44
Now that's more like it! I could eat pumpkin pie for the main course...
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 10/17/2011: 09:15:19
I don't know that I've ever carved a pumpkin since I went to college. Well, maybe the year or two I was home between college and grad school. And maybe the year I moved back in with my folks because life was crazy.
The last three places I've lived at really weren't all that conducive for trick or treating. Last year I bought candy but I didn't see any neighborhood kids out and about. I think I still have some of that candy left that I haven't eaten yet.
DeanT - Posted - 10/17/2011: 10:26:48
Our neighborhood is the same way... every year less and less kids, and the last two years, none. Trick-or-treating in the general public is getting too dangerous and dying out. Everybody goes to the malls now.
dat - Posted - 10/17/2011: 10:50:21
We have some kids from church come by, then a few neighbors, but out house is pretty much out of the way from anything, not many drivers by unless they are lost
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 10/17/2011: 11:27:15
I think around here it's a cultural thing, some, too. Lots of Hispanics and Asians and I don't know that they really get into the Halloween thing.
dat - Posted - 10/17/2011: 12:34:09
We decorate a little for Thanksgiving, more of a fall harvest type decorating, even though the harvest this year dried up and blew away 3 months ago. usually I'll dry come corn stalks and set them out, but not this year, no corn
dat - Posted - 10/18/2011: 07:00:38
we don't know many people that have tricycle motors any more, most are getting past the wanting to go trick or treating anymore, won't be long and a new batch will come around though as the youngens start to have youngens
DeanT - Posted - 10/18/2011: 10:31:22
We live in a in-and-out loop with 13 houses... so the only people who come through, are people who live here. The youngest kid in our neighborhood just left for basic training.
DeanT - Posted - 10/18/2011: 14:10:10
You now... I don't know! I never asked his Pa what force he went in to!
I went to Lackland!
dat - Posted - 10/19/2011: 05:50:21
ever go to Biloxi, by bro said the base wasn't much, but the beach scenery was nice
DeanT - Posted - 10/19/2011: 07:46:04
Nope! My illustrious career took me to four states... and I never made it outside the US!
dat - Posted - 10/19/2011: 08:05:50
Biloxi, Mississippi isn't far from the states, buy being next to Louisiana, it's like another world
dat - Posted - 10/19/2011: 12:16:57
what states were you stationed in? my bro was in Texas in basic, then went to Biloxi Miss. for school, then went to Germany, then Del Rio texas, then Virginia, then Ok City, then England, somewhere in there he spent a year in Korea and a year in Africa, 4 trips to Iraq then back to OK City, he had a chance to retire but took on Sr Msgt instead of retiring, now he is about to retire and saying that he may stay in again as a Chief Msgt, but he doesn't want to have to go overseas again, so he doesn't know yet if he will take it or retire
DeanT - Posted - 10/19/2011: 18:53:16
Spent most of my time in Kansas at a back shop. Did TDY's in Wisconson, Georgia, and Texas. I put my name on the Desert Shield and Desert Storm volunteer list... but didn't get either one. We were an overhaul depot... so we were pretty stuck stateside. Even though we had to play all the games and always be ready.
dat - Posted - 10/21/2011: 05:48:33
good to stay state side, my bro said the sounds of mortor shells and rifle rounds inbound didn't sound to purty good
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 10/21/2011: 06:17:02
My uncle had a football injury or something so when he was in the army (during the Korean War) he was based in France.
Met his wife there.
DeanT - Posted - 10/21/2011: 07:13:51
I met my second wife on the plane from basic training to tech school...
dat - Posted - 10/21/2011: 09:11:38
if anything happens to my first, I don't believe I'll want to deal with a second

I haven't even managed a first. I suppose it might help if I actually talked to people sometimes.
dat - Posted - 10/21/2011: 12:25:32
talking to people is where I mess up, I probably have a better chance when I keep my mouth shut. as far as people wanting to stick around me for any time at all anyway

I would have done a lot better if would have been rich (#1) a boozer (#2) or a druggie (#3) but I was too poor and boring.

Gorgeous weather here today. Went out to see my pony. He's cute.
DeanT - Posted - 10/23/2011: 18:06:25
82 degrees in Kansas today... perfect day for our outdoor concert gig
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 10/24/2011: 06:16:10
You know I never thought of Kansas as being that warm but it sounds like you guys get much hotter weather than we do here.
