Now you have all of these people saying that "oh nothing good comes from spanking" and "you damage your child's poor innocent body when you spank". Obviously my child isn't innocent if I have a need to spank them.

Speaking of Jim Beam......when I first moved to Lexington, I lived above a liquor store (whoops! big surprise). Anywho, for a long time they had some kind of weird sale going on where you could get a fifth of Beam (in a Holiday bottle) for like $5.95. They were cute little things. Beam was a great teacher. Things like "Don't try to lock someone out when the door has a window big enough to put a fist through". "Matches aren't a good idea if the pilot light is out". "Don't stick your finger into a socket to decide whether or not there's electricity still flowing". "The payphone at the corner is sticky for a reason".

better remembered doing it yourself though instead of just listening to somebody else
Alaina - Posted - 05/02/2013: 12:19:17
That's why I like having a little sister (especially when she was about 4 or 5) because I could test out all my not so great ideas through her and not get in trouble. Unfortunately one day she got smart and told mom they were all my ideas... Then she stopped being quite as fun.

I was the little brother, I tried many things so that nobody else got hurt, I guess the good thing is I'm not scared to try something new now, couldn't hurt worse than some of the other things I've done
DeanT - Posted - 05/02/2013: 12:40:38
I got to be the first one to pee on an electric fence. My brother wouldn't do it
Alaina - Posted - 05/02/2013: 12:44:37
Older siblings know better than to do something stupid, they just want to know what will happen if the stupid idea is carried out anyway ![]()
dat - Posted - 05/02/2013: 13:42:11
we did a lot of follow me, what ever one did the other had to do too, if you couldn't, you lost. we all got hurt doing something stupid and lived

ivory soap tastes nasty, and doesn't get any better the 30 or 40th time
Alaina - Posted - 05/02/2013: 15:37:45
Softsoap on the toothbrush so you're still feeling the punishment for the next couple days

My dad apparently cussed in front of one of the grandkids so my mom and the grandkid put soap on his toothbrush. Mom was going to warn him later but forgot.
DeanT - Posted - 05/03/2013: 09:54:46
I don't think I ever heard my dad cuss. Maybe he did in Dutch, but I wouldn't have known
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 05/03/2013: 10:34:35
My dad didn't cuss much when I was younger but he got more relaxed as I got older.
My mom doesn't cuss much.

My ex (when we split up) had 3 spinning wheels and 4 looms for weaving. I didn't see the need for so many and when I commented on the amount of them, she just pointed at my pile of instruments.
dmiller - Posted - 05/06/2013: 16:11:47
"The Look" usually happens after the woman says "FINE!" - - which (as any man knows) means things aren't "fine", and if that man is smart he'd be looking for the quickest exit out of the room! ![]()
paulac7 - Posted - 05/06/2013: 16:55:51
I have a pretty evil 'The Look' myself....and you are right on the money dmiller with the "FINE" also....you are a wise man!! LOL
paulac7 - Posted - 05/06/2013: 17:06:02
Well, I either have, or am, an 'ex'...not real sure of the proper terminology.....whatever works, I guess....
dmiller - Posted - 05/06/2013: 17:29:16
If you have an "ex", then by definition you also are an "ex".
Two sides to each coin, both of which make up the coin. ![]()

I guess we're doing it wrong, I'm still on my first without and X, then again I'm glad it works out like that
paulac7 - Posted - 05/07/2013: 09:18:01
nope--means you are very fortunate.....sometimes having that 'X' designator can be a drawback...especially if you play the banjo....*just kidding*

Hey there Ace, we are one girl less around the house now, 22 years old and we had a wedding last weekend
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 05/07/2013: 09:43:13
The only ex(es) I have are ex-boyfriends. Could nver find a guy who was willing to put up with me for more than a few months. And even those guys are few and far in between.
dat - Posted - 05/07/2013: 09:46:00
my bro in law got married a couple of months ago, he is 57, hopefully the second time around goes better
paulac7 - Posted - 05/07/2013: 11:10:05
Good luck to your bro in law, Dat.....@ Mr Quimby~don't think there's anyone out there who could put up with me, either....but I have the dogs and my music, and that's enough.....
dat - Posted - 05/07/2013: 11:35:13
I never thought anybody would put up with me, then I actually got worse after getting married, she should have left my sorry butt many times, I was a pretty bad drunk, never cheated or never tried to get abusive, I was just a drunk. glad now she did put up with me. Lord only knows why she did. just goes to show you, if somebody could put up with me through those times, neither one of ya'll could be that bad, there is somebody out there that can put up with you if you can put up with them.
