I ain't never had too much fun, but kinda like Robert Earl Keen said about when he went to Willie's first pick nick, he had so much fun that he had to take a nap

my fun times are still going on, I have fun doing what ever I do. but my wild days were in the mid to late 80's through to 2002 when I realized I needed to sober up and meet my kids

living through some of the stupid stuff i did is saying that the good Lord does watch over us
Alaina - Posted - 11/01/2012: 12:45:26
Dad always said that God watches out for children, drunks, and fools....and then he admitted that he fell into each of those categories haha

Neither has my 91yr old great grandmother who still fights with my grandfather (her son-in-law) over who gets to drive to town. It's pretty funny!

I stayed up last night late and worked on an old dresser I'm rebuilding, hopefully I'll deliver it tomorrow.

I think I got in five hours spinning last night. I'm amazed I can walk today!

the fumes are done with, just polishing the paint. I like the rebuilding and woodwork part, but painting isn't fun to me. I sprayed the paint on, which looked good, but then I wanted a little better shine so I wet sanded with 600 grit then with 2000 grit, last night was the 3000 grit sanding polish, I think they'll be happy with it.

I have a new drive wheel for my original wheel. I need to sand it and stain it. I'm thinking about restaining the entire wheel. But it's not something I have any drive to do. Plus I'd have to stop spinning on that wheel.
I have two other wheels but I like that one the best.

I've been working on my grandfathers old tenor banjo lately too, birdseye maple resonator and rim, hide head, from what I've been able to find out about it so fat is that it was made in the 20's. sanding and refinishing it has been fun, before I sanded the old finish you couldn't even tell it was birdseye, it was just yellow. wood can surprise you sometimes

Nah. Lots of people buy yarn with no idea what to do with it....

I use a niddy noddy instead of a swift and a nostepinne instead of a ball winder. (Sometimes if I can't fine my nostepinne I just use my thumb.) My yarn production isn't high enough to justify spending the money on a swift or ballwinder and I'm not talented enough to make them on my own.

My grandmother does... One year she literally wrapped presents in yarn. It was really cool until we had to unwrap them because she wouldn't let us cut the yarn haha

Our dogs have to wear the knitted creations my wife comes up with

I think one of the coolest things I ever saw someone do with my yarn was a friend of mine who makes jewelry used it to make hair for a display mannequin she uses at craft shows.
I used to have a picture of it. I don't know what happened to it.

Oh my goodness I had the best morning ever! There was a craft fair I was interested in going to because I went to it a few years ago and it was pretty cool. So I got the day off and went.
They had gorgeous handmade stuff (largely WAY out of my price range--but totally worth the prices they were charging) on one side and on the other side they had destash stuff. There must have been a spinner destashing because I totally scored on a bunch of fiber, a little tahkli spindle and (best of all) a bulky flyer for one of my wheels with 6 bobbins. (My wheels all have 4 ounce bobbins. A bulky flyer can hole 8 ounces.) It was half the price of what I would have spent if I'd gotten one new!
I also found a couple items in the handmade section that were on clearance and super cheap. And I bought some destash yarn, because it was pretty.
