Kansas will be back in the 40's by weekend... spring is in the air...

I had a good day skiing. It was in the teens but I was dressed appropriately and was comfortable. They’re calling for over a foot of snow tomorrow and then temperatures near zero for a few days.

I went to Mount Wachusetts. It’s less than an hour from home not a huge hill but they’ve got some interesting and challenging runs and three high speed detachable quad lifts so you don’t spend a ton of time in line or on lift chairs. I get a seasons pass so the cost is reasonable
My best friend live just outside North Conway, NH so I get up there fairly often too and there are a bunch of great areas there.

Looks nice. About 12 years ago I was in that area- I think there was a small truck stop in Leominster
OM45GE - Posted - 01/04/2018: 05:42:14
There was a diesel stop and convenience store just off route 2. I haven’t been over there for a while so I don’t know if it’s still there.
chuckv97 - Posted - 01/04/2018: 06:50:36
Yeah, I remember that one, also I was thinking of Mr. Mike’s on I-190
OM45GE - Posted - 01/05/2018: 04:06:18
Yeah, if I’m heading out Route 2 I just get on at I-495. If I’m heading for the Mass Pike I just do 495 to 290 to the Pike.

They said on the news today, that our city has gone 388 days without snow...
chuckv97 - Posted - 01/05/2018: 18:46:01
I’ve driven through falling snow every month of the year. Up in the mountain passes it can snow a bit in July and August.

Our weather here in Mn. is not the best right now, and it's cold, cold, cold. The past few days it's been (on average) -16° below zero. There's also a "traffic jam" of ships out on Lake Superior all trying to get into port for one last load to take to whatever port they are headed to. Here's a pic of 8 of the ships lined up to get into the harbor.

Nice photo. Yeah, we used to get them lined up like that on Lake Ontario ready to enter the Welland Canal at St. Catharines, my hometown.

It’s been warmer here in Yuma than last year. But down in the low 50’s at night.

We may get two inches of rain Friday and Saturday. That’ll really raise heck with the skiing.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/09/2018: 11:49:11
Just hit 42 F. That's 53 degrees more than it was over the weekend.

It's supposed to be in the forties and fifties tomorrow through Saturday with a big slug of rain. I'm happy it's not below zero, but I would prefer it stay winter.

Certainly seems that way.
First a Sunbeam Tiger, now Kaos, Barbara Feldon and Don Adams. Must be a Get Smart fan.

Perhaps we should use the Cone of Silence on this thread from now on....

Maybe you should move to Andover. There are several nice homes for sale in the area.
DeanT - Posted - 01/11/2018: 06:57:13
Andover Kansas is on our radar for our retirement home (condo)
OM45GE - Posted - 01/11/2018: 07:47:46
I just looked that up. Looks like a nice city. About half the population of my town. Real estate is 1/2 or less too. You would have sticker shock if you came here.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/11/2018: 10:54:22
True. The Boston area is one of the most expensive in the country. There's no developable land and there's a huge demand. When I was recruiting, we used to have to give huge cost of living allowances to help people move in here.
DeanT - Posted - 01/11/2018: 13:04:25
We though about moving back to Maine... no way in hell could we afford that. Cost of living here is very low. If we stay here, we are set for life and can get a really nice condo.
