probably both, but more age now.   I like to think that I do things slower cause I'm smarter about doing it, truth is it hurts more now if I blow through things and try to get it done fast.    I still cut and split fire wood by hand, but it takes me longer to get a cord stacked

DeanT - Posted - 09/06/2013:  17:58:49

I'm more in favor of turning the heater on. Lots easier on your back

dat - Posted - 09/09/2013:  12:07:25

it is easier, but I still like to back up to a fire

DeanT - Posted - 09/09/2013:  15:54:39

Just stick your bare butt on a heater duct...tongue

dat - Posted - 09/10/2013:  15:15:23

that doesn't go over very well when there is company over

DeanT - Posted - 09/10/2013:  15:21:14

tell them to join you

dat - Posted - 09/14/2013:  10:29:44

my bride wouldn't be happy ifin I did that

DeanT - Posted - 09/14/2013:  12:28:03

Well, who the boss?

dat - Posted - 09/16/2013:  11:04:00

We share the bossing,   I get the title and she gets the responsibilities

DeanT - Posted - 09/16/2013:  15:02:59

Our dogs are the boss

dat - Posted - 09/16/2013:  15:08:18

it works well to work together

DeanT - Posted - 09/16/2013:  17:55:23

A big box of milk bones works really good

dat - Posted - 09/17/2013:  07:58:00

our neighbors dog has adopted us, he lives close to a mile down the road, but stays at our house, they have come and gotten him several times, but he keeps coming back.  he brings us things too, he usually brings a towel or a pillow with him, he drug up a food bowl once. my bride was outside and he came up the driveway with his bowl in his mouth.    she said a dog only has one thing to move and he was moving in.   he was on the porch this morning wagging his tail when I left for work

DeanT - Posted - 09/17/2013:  15:53:35

Just keep him. Dog's know when they are home.

dat - Posted - 09/18/2013:  05:44:35

I believe he is home,  he brought a new blanket with him sometime last night, he was curled up on the porch sleeping on a baby blanket he found somewhere

DeanT - Posted - 09/18/2013:  16:05:09

let him in, give him a bath, and give him a name.

dat - Posted - 09/19/2013:  10:30:01

he got a bath last night,  he stood still through the whole thing, even wagged his tail.  pretty good ol mutt, looks like he has a little lab in him, a little of what we call yellow cur dog, who knows what else, pretty gentle for a puppy.  his owners will be back and get him, but he comes right back.  even without feeding him

DeanT - Posted - 09/19/2013:  11:35:58

you mean his x-owners...

dat - Posted - 09/19/2013:  14:19:48

could be x owners, so far he has made a good porch dog

dat - Posted - 09/19/2013:  14:22:11

I taught him to sit,  shake, lay down, working on roll over

DeanT - Posted - 09/19/2013:  16:21:46

He needs a comfy bed near the foot of your bed!

dat - Posted - 09/20/2013:  06:28:35

funny, he brought his own yesterday, a cushion from some yard furniture.  I wish I could have seen him dragging it through the woods

dat - Posted - 09/20/2013:  08:34:56

he also brought up a kids left shoe,  a pink baby blanket, and a bathroom mat, he likes to carry stuff

DeanT - Posted - 09/20/2013:  13:05:38

Does he ever bring stuff back to where he got it?

dat - Posted - 09/20/2013:  13:52:27

he takes everything home with him, it ends up in our yard beside my truck

DeanT - Posted - 09/20/2013:  16:54:38

Teach him how to steal more valuable stuff...

dat - Posted - 09/23/2013:  09:41:04

so far his ex owners haven't come by and brought him back home for over a week now, he sleeps on the porch

DeanT - Posted - 09/23/2013:  11:35:29

That's because he is home!

dat - Posted - 09/23/2013:  12:18:26

getting to where he barks at folks when they drive up he chases away the critters from the woods, not bad for a mutt that adopted us

DeanT - Posted - 09/23/2013:  17:13:52

And his name is?

dat - Posted - 09/24/2013:  06:12:02

Buddy, his ex owners called him bud.

DeanT - Posted - 09/24/2013:  11:14:49

Cool, you've got you a bud. Now train him to get you a Bud...

dat - Posted - 09/24/2013:  12:13:39

I'll bet they come pick him up again pretty soon, good to have a porch dog that eats at the neighbors hopuse

DeanT - Posted - 09/24/2013:  15:12:07

They may show up to deliver Bud's dog food

dat - Posted - 09/25/2013:  06:25:15

I'm getting to where I'ld be OK with that, we don't feed him, but he eats well, not fat but has good rolling skin and meat on his ribs.  he wiggles all over when I get home in the evening. even though he eats there, I think we're the only ones that give him any attention as far as playing with him

Dogs know where they belong! My avatar dog (Lisa) was supposed to just be a temp foster... Ha!... she walked in, found a bed, gathered all the bones and toys on it, layed down, flipped over, said "I'm home" and fell asleep. That was the first 20 minutes in our hose. We signed the adoption papers two weeks later.

dat - Posted - 09/26/2013:  08:18:23

I believe the ex owners have given up, they still haven't driven up to take him home again.  I ought to get a bag of dog food, or at least save up some leftovers

DeanT - Posted - 09/26/2013:  09:18:57

Welcome Home Buddy!

do you still have George?   isn't that your horses name?

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 09/26/2013:  13:57:19

Yeah, I have George. I've been a bad mom, though, and haven't been out to play with him recently.

I'm sure he doesn't care. He's just hanging out in a field getting fat.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 09/26/2013:  13:58:10

I'm hoping to go see him tomorrow. Thursdays are not a good night to visit because they have other lessons going on but Fridays are usually okay.
