The girl with the GS could get my wheels off the ground pretty easily too. ![]()

I was married to my 2nd ex when I had my Buick, so it's potential was totally wasted. I did sell it to a guy who used it at the drag strip though.
chuckv97 - Posted - 06/08/2017: 18:43:58
I once bought a '64 Chevrolet station wagon cheap, with a worn out 283. The guy had used it in the ice races on lakes in NW Ontario. (fill up the oil and check the gas)
DeanT - Posted - 06/09/2017: 10:47:03
oh yeah... we ALWAYS had an oil pan under the car in the garage.
OM45GE - Posted - 06/09/2017: 10:52:04
I used to have a fake oil puddle - like the fake puke you can get at joke shops. I'd toss it under a buddy's bike and wait for him to freak out.
OM45GE - Posted - 06/09/2017: 12:10:50
It only worked for a little while before everyone was on to me.

I used to see those in Whitney catalogs but never actually saw one.
DeanT - Posted - 06/12/2017: 10:14:29
The JC Whitney catalogs had all kinds of cool stuff... I loved the Lincoln VW hoods
OM45GE - Posted - 06/12/2017: 17:30:40
They did have an incredible selection. You could spend hours leafing through the catalog.

It seems like I must have, but it's too far back in the mists of time for me to remember. I was always working on my own cars and bikes and I was always short on cash so it would have made sense.
chuckv97 - Posted - 06/13/2017: 08:06:58
I worked and went to school, later University for a few years and I was always near broke. Easy come, easy go in those daze.

I was more likely to score free pot than free beer. Joints got passed around, beers got held in hand.

I've known some grandmothers who could party with the best of us.

I first heard it on BG jnctn on XM radio by Charlie Sizemore last year
OM45GE - Posted - 06/17/2017: 05:05:23
I heard it on a local C&W station that did a set of "drunk" songs. Please Daddy Don't Get Drunk This Christmas was another one.
DeanT - Posted - 06/17/2017: 06:35:41
I remember that one, John Denver. They never play it anymore either
DeanT - Posted - 06/19/2017: 15:44:13
same here, especially in this heat! Our heat index is going over 100 these days...

My wife and I have a big glass, office style water jug. It has over 30 years worth of pennys in it, and is right at half full. I can't lift it.

I had one of those filled with coins too. I tried to tip it over to empty the coins out so,we could roll them and it shattered. That was a mess.
OM45GE - Posted - 06/21/2017: 03:10:12
I have a beer tunny that I use now. It's amazing how the coins add up. If I wait until it's full before I roll them, I've had close to $300 in the jar.
chuckv97 - Posted - 06/21/2017: 06:26:08
I get too much change in my pockets, so I use'em up when I buy stuff
DeanT - Posted - 06/21/2017: 10:20:00
We have the pennies in the glass jug, and do silver change in a old coffee can. Yep... $200-$300 every couple years.

I don't like carrying change so it goes in the bucket every night. I'll pick up coins, including pennies, if I find them on the ground.
