The AF is incredably pilot/crew/safety conscious. Much more so than civilian aviation
DeanT - Posted - 04/15/2015: 06:11:19
they have so many regulations, it's amazing they ever get anything off the ground
dat - Posted - 04/15/2015: 06:49:11
if the Wright brothers had all those regulations, they never would have gotten off the ground
OM45GE - Posted - 04/15/2015: 10:19:08
They probably would have been arrested for trespassing on the beach at Kitty Hawk.
chuckv97 - Posted - 04/15/2015: 10:28:37
Thomas Edison once said "Regulations be damned! We're trying to accomplish something here!"
dat - Posted - 04/15/2015: 10:46:05
only thing regulations really do is make money, you either have to pay for a license to do it, or pay a fine for doing it
dat - Posted - 04/16/2015: 05:53:19
that's a good way to look at it, we sure need more regulations around here then, and not any of those regulations that make the numbers look good, regulations that pay enough to make a living

It's a lovely day in the neighborhood. Sunny skies and temps near 70. Tough to keep my mind on work.

work, what is work, oh, I need to get to work, 68 degrees, the sun is shining and a nice breeze is blowing through, I want to go fishing, .......................dang telephone
OM45GE - Posted - 04/16/2015: 07:44:13
I think I'll put the top down on the car and go for a ride at lunch time. Clear out some of the cobwebs in my brain.
dat - Posted - 04/16/2015: 07:46:38
we have that nice green pine pollen all over every thing, some folks don't like it, but to me it means spring is here, fish are biting, stuff is growing and the jacket goes in the closet 'till october or november
chuckv97 - Posted - 04/16/2015: 09:40:41
I finally took off my long johns....err......I mean I've quit wearin' em til next November

Toby got used to pooping on the snow. He looked for the last remnants so he could still do it. They're all gone now so he's back to pooping on the grass again.
dat - Posted - 04/17/2015: 11:17:18
Should have sling shotted them into the neighbors yard a month and a half ago
dat - Posted - 04/17/2015: 11:19:05
I had a lab that would back up in the bushes, he would always try to go somewhere that nobody could see
OM45GE - Posted - 04/17/2015: 11:37:14
I trained my last Golden Retriever to poop in the hay field behind the house so he wouldn't get them all over the lawn. Only problem was when it snowed I had to shovel a path to the field because he wouldn't go otherwise. He'd sit at the edge of the snow and whine.
dat - Posted - 04/17/2015: 12:17:48
i'm glad we don't have that much snow, I like snow, but after a day or so, that's enough
OM45GE - Posted - 04/18/2015: 17:44:45
They were just saying on the news that this will be a bad tick season. Apparently all the snow kept them from freezing to death.
dat - Posted - 04/20/2015: 13:53:29
yes, I've gotten rocky mountain spotted fever from a tick before, and west nile from a skeeter, me and bugs don't get along well, hope to stay away from lyme carrying ticks
OM45GE - Posted - 04/20/2015: 14:13:23
I've gotten Lyme Disease but caught it with antibiotics. Those made me sick though. I hate the damn things.
DeanT - Posted - 04/20/2015: 14:15:03
I quit taking the dogs down by the creek... we try to stay on concrete now, stupid bugs
dat - Posted - 04/20/2015: 15:03:30
come to think of it, if it's as safe as the vets say, why don't they make frontline for people
OM45GE - Posted - 04/20/2015: 17:45:25
I've wondered that myself. Toby doesn't like it when I put Frontline on him. He rolls around trying to get it off.
dat - Posted - 04/21/2015: 05:54:00
Kansas ticks are mutants, kind of a blend of Oklahoma and Missouri ticks, with a little Nebraska thrown in there, and some of the Colorado oddness, no tellin what all chemicals made those ticks what they are today
OM45GE - Posted - 04/21/2015: 06:06:07
If mother nature hadn't come up with tick, skeeters, bed bugs and the like and someone like Steven King put them in one of his horror books, everyone would think he had a very sick imagination.
DeanT - Posted - 04/21/2015: 09:43:32
I hate the bugs that crawl up your shirt sleeve... or down your pants...
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/21/2015: 10:56:16
I had a tick go down my shirt front once. I was at work and let me tell you that was some serious self-control to keep from ripping off my shirt and running down the hall screaming.
I'm in the adiministration building and the college president sometimes has important guests, so I try not to be too extreme.
