I figure about another week of it getting down to 40 to 45 at night, and our winter here is over with, alas, no snow ![]()
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 02/13/2013: 18:16:02
We were supposed to get a "light dusting" but just after I got home from work it looked like a mini-blizzard.
It's stopped now so maybe that will be all. For awhile there, though, it looked like we might have a delayed opening tomorrow.

winter never happened in Kansas. It's been summer for at least two years now
dat - Posted - 02/14/2013: 06:53:31

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been gone so long, I've had a lot come up lately. How has everyone been?
mbanjo - Posted - 02/14/2013: 11:27:07
Its debateable.............I personally am just older,.... although I haven't looked in the mirror today:-)
Alaina - Posted - 02/14/2013: 12:37:19
Nope, I wish that were the case though. Charley is really sick and the vets think it's bone cancer...
DeanT - Posted - 02/14/2013: 18:43:37
Charley is the Basset right? I hope the docs are wrong and he gets better soon!
OM45GE - Posted - 02/15/2013: 03:26:05
I know it's part of owning pets, but you just hate to see them get sick.

Toby would do just about anything for a peanut butter sandwich.
OM45GE - Posted - 02/15/2013: 07:16:58
We used to put a tablespoons worth of PB on the roof my Golden Retriever's mouth. He would spend half an hour licking it off. My current wife thinks it's mean so we don't do it with Toby.
Toby doesn't like Kongs for some reason, but I never thought to put Peanut Butter in one. I'll have to try it.
DeanT - Posted - 02/15/2013: 10:24:54
we mix all kinds of stuff in the kongs, usually from leftovers. With peanut butter added throughout. Plug one side with peanut butter, and fill the mix with water, and then freeze. It keeps them busy for several hours!
dat - Posted - 02/15/2013: 10:31:15
stuff it with cheese whiz out of a squirt can and it would keep me busy for a while
Alaina - Posted - 02/15/2013: 11:17:37
Charley is my 5 year old basset, yes. Haven't heard anything back from his blood test they did a couple days ago to check for tick-bourne illnesses, and part of me doesn't want to know. But he is definitely getting spoiled. Like all the good stuff: bacon, the skin off the rotisserie chicken that we get, cheetos (he loves them), apples with peanut butter, all kinds of yummy stuff. And he's loving it

Hahahahaha he's too active for that. He loves to run around and play.
OM45GE - Posted - 02/15/2013: 12:36:28
That's good - lots of walks too? Those are good for both of you.
Alaina - Posted - 02/15/2013: 12:37:03
You bet. We go run on the golf course at least three times a week.
DeanT - Posted - 02/15/2013: 12:47:26
Could you pleas bring him to Kansas, and have him chase all the Canadian pooping geese off our golf course? Thanks!
Alaina - Posted - 02/15/2013: 12:50:52
He would LOVE that! He has this thing with birds, he would rather chase them than the rabbits on our golf course lol. There were mud hens out there once and he managed to catch one who thought it could outrun him. He snagged the tail feathers before getting a better grasp and then just stopped and looked at us like "now what?"
OM45GE - Posted - 02/15/2013: 13:15:26
Yeah, what would they do with the car if they caught it?
