My pooch loves car rides, which is funny because she rarely goes anywhere but the vet.  She acts nervous in the car, but will jump in the second you open the door.

Wish I was able to have another dog........they are not allowed in the units where we live.........that was the reason I had to part with 'scrappy' my dalmation.......he now has a new owner and couple of canine buddies to play with.

I was offered the oportunity to visit whenever I wanted, and it is only couple of hours drive........not too sure how I would react

probably a good thing not to go, the dog will probably walk up to you and pee your leg 'cause you left him there.     then you'll have to walk out of the house with a squishey sock on one foot and a dry sock on the other

Toby snagged a ham shank out of the trash and went off and hid with it. He had eaten all of the soft tissue and about half the bone when I  found him. Within a day he was pooping blood (inflammation, not punctured intestines) and spent 36 hours in the doggy ER. That turned out to be a $2,700 ham bone.

and the vets are still cheaper than the doctors,  a vet is actually better than a doctor, they can look at a horsesass and tell them whats wrong without them saying a word
