Wasn't it the Christian Science Church that didn't believe in doctors or modern medicine- they figured your strong faith would cure any ailment or disease. I do believe the mind is a powerful thing,but I suspect most people don't have that deep of a faith. "Mind over matter" is likely limited in most of us.
