Didn't we already establish that shows like that were years and years before I was born? big

DeanT - Posted - 01/08/2013:  17:37:46

I kinda like Kansas too... until the wind blows me off the porch, and my plastic chairs end up three blocks away...

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/08/2013:  17:49:30

I think Adam 12 and Emergency were the first real TV shows that I watched when I was a kid. Well, except for Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, Electric Company and Captain Kangaroo. But those don't really count.

DeanT - Posted - 01/08/2013:  18:16:41

Remember ZOOM? Usually came on right after Electric Company

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/08/2013:  18:35:49

That doesn't sound familiar. I think I didn't like the Electric Company as well as the others, though, so I might have gotten bored and turned off the TV before Zoom came on.

DeanT - Posted - 01/08/2013:  19:13:40

The zoom-zoom-zooma-zoom song is forever etched in my brain

mbanjo - Posted - 01/09/2013:  00:57:35

I used to like the bob cummings show and I love lucy...................couple of others but I can't remember the names

ErikH - Posted - 01/09/2013:  02:29:51

Zoom was cool.  Geared toward kids a littlle older than the Electric Company, I think.  Remember Morgan Freeman on the Electric Company?

BTW, I thought Dixie on Emergency! was hot for an older lady, too.

I always wanted to go to Yellowstone too

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  08:41:03

Okay, I remember Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, Reading Rainbow (seemed to disappear when I was 5 or so), Lambchop (a lamb puppet that was kind of sarcastic but really funny, the lady died and they canceled the show when I was 4 I think), and that is about all of the really old shows that I can think of...

Where's that last picture from, Dat?

I drove through there once about 19 or 20 years ago and thought it was nice

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/09/2013:  09:45:03

We might have been there around the same time. My first year at Gallaudet I drove down to see the fall colors. That would have been 1993.

dat - Posted - 01/09/2013:  10:32:54

we drove through during the summer, it was still nice though, I'm not sure of the year, but it was probably pretty close

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  11:02:20

It is on me "to-see" list!

dat - Posted - 01/09/2013:  12:13:15

I suck at fishing LOL. I catch just about everything BUT a fish!

dat - Posted - 01/09/2013:  13:47:22

I do too, but it's fun to get out and watch the water and forget about work and the telephone and hope something doesn't bite so you don't have to clean it

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  13:49:47

See, I hop on the back of my boyfriend's bike and we cruise through the mountains. This way I don't have to worry about cleaning or cooking anything, and I still forget about everything stressful

dat - Posted - 01/09/2013:  13:53:06

that'll work too, it's good to get away somehow somewhere

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  13:54:32

He won't teach me to ride by myself though, he's scared I'll want my own bike haha

ErikH - Posted - 01/09/2013:  14:46:43

I mostly fished for bottle bass myself big

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  14:47:16

Haha how are you doing today Erik?

ErikH - Posted - 01/09/2013:  14:51:20

Okay now that I'm home from work.   How are you?

Edited by - ErikH on 01/09/2013 14:51:53

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  14:53:08

Still at work, but I only have about another hour and a half. Unfortunately a lot of people here are sick (like they came to work sick today) so my need to sanitize everything is going crazy lol

ErikH - Posted - 01/09/2013:  14:56:49

Yeah, the emergency rooms around here are overflowing with people with the flu.  Every time I'm in a public place I'm seeing people coughing and sneezing.

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:01:29

I was nice enough to stay home when I was sick...too bad other people didn't. I'm gonna be mad as hell if I get sick AGAIN!

dat - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:05:00

about 20 more min. and I get to go home

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:07:32

Sweetness!

ErikH - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:08:48

I had the flu vaccine months ago, so I'm not worried so much about that, but where I work they have an monetary incentive for people not to use their sick days.  What this means is that people come in near death and cough a lung all over you and everything else, so you can't help but come down with something.

mbanjo - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:11:24

I'm grateful it's not flu season here yet........I always get the vaccine every year

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:13:09

I seriously can't standing sitting at a desk when I feel like death warmed over, no reasonable amount of money is worth that kind of misery... Unfortunately some of my coworkers don't share in my feelings of that...

ErikH - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:14:04

I think this mild winter is part of the reason it's so bad around here right now.  We need a good stretch of below zero weather to put a stop to it.

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:16:34

And we need a good stretch of solid rain... As long as it stays Monday through Friday and doesn't cut into my weekend

dat - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:21:21

They tell us to use our sick days, if we don't use them we loose them and they don't carry over to the next year.   then again we don't get many days, 5 vacation days and 5 sick days a year if we've been here one year or 40 years

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:22:18

Aw that sucks. I'm sorry

ErikH - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:27:26

We can bank ours.  I have around 170 banked.  I'm not elegible for the monetary incentive, though, so I use mine when I'm truly sick.

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:30:57

I had like three days saved up and then got crazy sick on new years day and took off the next two days...

ErikH - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:33:27

I had a bad cold back in September.  I missed two days.  My rule of thumb is usually if I am running a temp of 100 or better, I stay home.

Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013:  15:35:27

Mine is that if I stand up and get instantly dizzy or my throat is so sore that it hurts to talk (I'm a receptionist), I call out sick.

mbanjo - Posted - 01/09/2013:  17:53:01

I never got sore throats when I smoked , but since I stopped my throat needs lozenges every now and then.

ErikH - Posted - 01/10/2013:  02:32:11

I coughed a lot more when I smoked, but I think for the most part, I got sick less.  Of course, I was younger, too.

dat - Posted - 01/10/2013:  05:51:04

I don't get sick very much, I usually use all my sick days for vacation, some places say don't do that, but the owner of the place told us to use them
