Maybe it's a diesel and he's pulled in far enough to plug in the block heater.

I like watching a cat when they go out in the first snow of the year. They walk very gingerly and lift each paw and shake it.

It's -17*C / +3*F in Winnipeg this morning. Heading for California later today.

That reminds me- Bill, did you ever hear the tune "Bay State Bounce"? It's on a Bill Keith album- sounds like a good old fiddle tune that he does on banjo. I love it.

My son and I would take you up on it if we could. Anxious to go skiing

We are... totally staying home this weekend! Funny watching the dogs slip sliding in the back yard. Lots of traffic accidents on the news, 4 people killed yesterday on the highway
OM45GE - Posted - 11/28/2015: 07:38:02
Sounds like a nice day. Sometimes Mother Nature forces us to relax.
DeanT - Posted - 11/28/2015: 12:02:23
so true! Still sleeting out there... drinking cappuccino as I type...

Mercy- it's +7*F in northern Nevada. Cold as a hockey puck all over the west, seeing as it's still November.
OM45GE - Posted - 11/30/2015: 03:29:34
November has been warmer than average around here we've had 19 days above average and only 11 below.

I thought it got cold on our camping trip, it got down in the 40's twice over the weekend

Kinda cool here, 55 now, raining, overcast, good day to be inside by the fire reading a book or picking the banjer

Looks like Minneapolis/ St. Paul are getting 8 or so inches of snow. So far nothing has happened here (Duluth is 150 miles north of the twin cities). We've gotten down to 6°f here at night, but during the day it's usually in the mid thirties.
OM45GE - Posted - 12/01/2015: 03:35:38
Looks like a couple of days of rain moving in. I enjoy a rainy day now and then.
dat - Posted - 12/01/2015: 07:36:52
I figured it was all used up by the time it came through here, enjoy the rest of it, it's wet

amazing how warm and cold feel, in the fall the first time the temp gets below 60, we build a fire and it feels food, in the spring when it gets to 50, we go outside because it feels good
OM45GE - Posted - 12/01/2015: 11:30:22
Isn't that the truth. The first time we hit 50 in the spring people will be out jogging in shorts, riding motorcycles and putting the tops down on convertibles. The first time we get DOWN to 50 in the fall we're breaking out winter jackets.
OM45GE - Posted - 12/02/2015: 03:17:44
I'm pretty warm blooded too - as long as I'm active. I've been outside shoveling snow with temps in the 20's.

my fingers don't work when it's below 50, and I think my feet just blend in with the ice, I never have really liked the cold, but around here even at 30* it's still raining or high humidity

One winter I did a brake job on a pickup I used to own. I didn't have a garage back then and had to do it in the driveway with temperatures in the teens. Man, was I miserable.
