I listen to the reports on the radio after it's done, 45 min drive to work I get plenty of radio time in
OM45GE - Posted - 12/31/2011: 04:13:13
I spend more time listening to radio than I do watching TV but, with an 11 year old and a TV addict wife, I'm the only one.

I can't believe that Sammy slept with EJ on One Life to Live... and her son knows about it!
OM45GE - Posted - 12/31/2011: 19:54:42
She's into reality shows, not soaps. I don't know which is worse.

I watched TV in the hotel last night. And in the hotel on my drive home a week or so ago. I got all caught up on my commercials.
DeanT - Posted - 01/02/2012: 16:39:56
The Animal shelter commercials over the holidays were pretty tough to watch
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/03/2012: 07:14:30
Oh thank goodness I didn't catch any of those. Mostly I got the "But wait! There's more!" type things. Apparently my life is not complete without a meatloaf pan and some snuggy-type pajama things (that should never see the light of day but apparently are perfect for tailgate parties) and I should not be embarrassed about my period.
I would probably be crying if I saw animal shelter commercials. You can't save them all and I'm pretty much full up right now.

we are thinking about getting another foster greyhound, but 4 makes for one full house!
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/03/2012: 08:24:42
I'll bet! And you have a bunch of other critters, too, don't you?
dat - Posted - 01/03/2012: 12:28:56
we had a stray show up over the weekend, somebody probably dumped it out, real friendly mutt though, we'll see if he sticks around or is just traveling through
DeanT - Posted - 01/04/2012: 00:46:46
one time no see...
our non-greyhound found a new home with friends, as a playmate to their steroidal Chihuahua...

I got one of those cortizone shots this morning in my foot. It feels weird.
dat - Posted - 01/04/2012: 06:45:52
I got one of those shots for my back about 5 years ago, I was thinking then, "Man, I could get one of these every day" glad I haven't though
dat - Posted - 01/04/2012: 09:05:03
just if they had a shot like that that could make me play the banjer a little better. seems like it's getting harder and harder to find time to sit down and pick
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/04/2012: 09:33:48
I got one in my foot years ago, back before my bunion surgery, that didn't do anything. And it hurt like anything when he did it. I think I almost kicked him in an uncomfortable spot. Really, not a good idea to hold someones foot in your lap when you're doing something unpleasant to them!
DeanT - Posted - 01/04/2012: 17:11:08
The dentist gave me valium when he did some major stuff. Man... he could have used a chain saw, and wouldn't have cared.
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/04/2012: 18:19:23
My former housemate had something wrong in her throat and the doctor went to cut it off. He sprayed on this numbing stuff but apparently it didn't do enough. She slugged him.
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/05/2012: 08:34:53
My dad is so strange. When I was home I had some of his whiskey. (He gets the cheap stuff, which made me kind of sad. It doesn't go down as easy and the stuff I get.) So New Year's Eve he went out shopping mid-day and bought enough food for like a party of 20 (there were only three of us at home that night) and a bottle of champagne to ring in the New Year. And he bought me a bottle of brandy.
I left on New Years. I have no idea why he bought me this bottle of brandy on New Year's Eve. I wasn't going to open it that night and I wasn't going to be there after that to drink it. So he sent it home with me.
I already had two almost full bottles at home.
So now I'm drinking brandy like every night.
dat - Posted - 01/05/2012: 09:33:34
I have a bottle of brandy that I've had for 20 years that I have not opened yet, I just thought the bottle looked nice when I bought it
Mr. Quimby - Posted - 01/05/2012: 10:02:29
I really liked brandy for awhile there and then I bought a bottle of a different brand because someone recommended that brand to me. It was REALLY sweet, though, and I didn't like it. Now I feel like even the stuff I used to like tastes too sweet.
So I've been mixing it with a touch of lemon to cut the sweet. It's not great but it's bearable.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/06/2012: 04:17:17
Too me the right mix of sweetness is a single malt Scotch that's been aged in Sherry casks.

I'm going to a concert tonight. It's a birthday bash, so there will be cake!
DeanT - Posted - 01/06/2012: 12:16:26
No chicken wire... and no cake... that I know of... just lots of beer and booze, and I don't drink!
dat - Posted - 01/06/2012: 14:24:28
NO CHICKEN WIRE? that means you've gotta learn to duck and dodge the beer bottles
