I take a bunch of different supplements to try stave off arthritis and general stiffness. I don't even want to think about not being able to play banjo or guitar anymore - it's been part of me forever
OM45GE - Posted - 06/21/2016: 02:32:55
I'm right there with you Chuck. Music is such a part of my self identity it's hard to imagine life without it.
DeanT - Posted - 06/21/2016: 05:22:42
I take clucosamene and condrouten with MSM and keep moving and workout like a maniac. I ran a 31 mile running race last Saturday. Keeps things at bay for now. Some days are better than others.
dat - Posted - 06/21/2016: 06:33:16
I used to run in the spring and summer, not long distance, just 3 to 5 miles a day, then while we were goose hunting, hiking out a mile through the rice fields with a bag of decoys, shotgun and a field bag with shells and beer, I wasn't winded when we got there
OM45GE - Posted - 06/21/2016: 10:07:38
You should have had a dog backpack and let him carry the beer.
DeanT - Posted - 06/21/2016: 10:10:41
My lazy dogs won't even run with me... and they are greyhounds!
dat - Posted - 06/21/2016: 10:30:16
a dog back pack would have been nice, but I tried to never put a strain on a dogs joints, specially a bigger dog, hips and shoulders can get hurt easy. I did have a camo neoprene vest though, kinda adds a little buoyancy while swimming and stops the brush from scratching them up as much, but never stashed anything in it
OM45GE - Posted - 06/21/2016: 11:01:43
That's probably a good idea Daniel. It's sad to see a good dog getting crippled by bad joints.
dat - Posted - 06/21/2016: 12:51:17
Yeah, hard to load up and go hunting and leave the dog on the porch knowing they would enjoy it still but would be hard on them, sad to watch when they can't any more

This talking about old dogs reminds me of the Tom T. Hall song:

The Dillards used to do a hilarious version of "Old Blue", with Mitch Jayne (later Rodney) youtu.be/RMw2Fdylb4Etelling a crazy story about dogs. Saw them around 1978 with Rodney, Dean, Billy Ray Lathum and Jeff Gilkyson.

Billy Ray Lathum picked for the Dillards?? I didn't know that.
I remember him being in the Kentucky Colonels with Roland and Clarence.
chuckv97 - Posted - 06/21/2016: 20:04:34
Yeah, I think he must have done some tours with them in the late '70's after Herb Pedersen left. I had an album of the White Brothers in Sweden with Alan Munde on banjo, Eric White on bass.

I always liked the Dillards, or the Darlings on Andy Griffith, I never knew they were actually a group 'till years later
OM45GE - Posted - 06/23/2016: 10:11:38
He certainly tried hard. There were some very talented kids in Our Gang.
dmiller - Posted - 06/23/2016: 21:41:32
The Little Rascals show was on T.V. when I was a kid - -
but I don't remember ever watching it.
chuckv97 - Posted - 06/23/2016: 22:23:44
I remember watching it at my friend's place. We liked the dog with the one black eye.

I watched it every once in a while, but I think I watches the rifleman, the lone ranger and rawhide more

LOL. Pedey is also called Muddy Chicken and Laser Show. He's a pretty good player for sure.

I don't keep up with baseball near as much as I used to, it was sure fun to play, and going to a live gave is great, but I don't watch them on TV, and haven't heard one on the radio in years. I remember as a kid sitting in my grandmothers kitchen listening to the baseball game on the radio

I listen to most Blue Jay games on Sirius XM when driving. Sometimes I like it as much as watching it on TV , especially a close game in the 9th inning with men on base.

I like watching baseball as well as listening to games on the radio. We live very close to the high school and I'll was some of the games over there. Good times.
DeanT - Posted - 06/27/2016: 12:58:00
I watch 7 games a year... well, as long as the series goes 7 games...
OM45GE - Posted - 06/27/2016: 18:10:45
I'm watching the Sox get their asses handed to them by Tampa Bay as we speak.

I'm not into baseball much - - BUT I keep wishing the Twins would do better (these days),
like they did back in '87 and '91!. I don't think it's a'gonna happen anytime soon.

I like the pace of baseball. I watch cricket too. There are some guys who play at the school near us.
DeanT - Posted - 06/28/2016: 04:54:47
I do watch Sports Center for the highlights. Love the bench clearing brawls. KC is always good for that
