My argument with that is is that there are a lot more snow storms than hurricanes

I'll take the Kansas tornadoes any day... hide in the basement, 20 minutes it's all over, and you are either fine, or your house is gone, but you are still fine. I wouldn't live here without a basement.

What a mess we’ve had here in Andover. The gas company somehow put high pressure gas into low pressure lines. Dozens of house fires and explosions with injuries and one fatality. We had five house fires in our neighborhood, fortunately all relatively minor.

The remnants of Florence are supposed to come in here tomorrow. We could get several inches of rain. That’s nothing compared to the nearly three feet they got in North Carolina. We’ve had the same all year so far.

Yep. Most of my over the road driving was in a single sleeper KW K100. It did have 425 Caterpillar so it had good get up and go, but it was tight living.

I used to be able to maintain the license without having to get a DOT physical. Now the physical card is scanned into the license system so you can't skip that.

At the same time, the DOT made the doctors jump through hoops to be able to give DOT physicals and a lot of them stopped doing them, including my primary care MD. As a result I have to go to a special DOT physical clinic.

Ironically, that guy is a chiropractor, not an MD. He cranks you through in about 15 minutes. Seems like my regular doc would know better if I was fit to drive a truck. It's also not covered by health insurance so it comes out of my pocket.

Mine’s not covered by health insurance either, just claim it as a deduction on my taxes
I had one doc 2 years ago take my blood pressure, gave me an eye test, told me to bend over and touch my toes,,, then filled out the form. 5 minutes.
