I can feel the pain from here. :-) :-) .............A couple of years ago I got to watch my own triple bypass operation........the producers of a tv reality program called RPA were interested in me because of another condition which required surgery at the same time....the show was later broadcast all over Australia and the tv station sent me a dvd. It is very strange looking at someone cutting and prizing through your chest and seeing your own heart beating. I only watched it once.

Wow. When I had the mediport removed from my chest, the surgeon only used a local, so I was able to watch, sort of. There wasn't a mirror or anything, so I could only see so much, but before he closed, he stepped back and let me look at the incision, so I could see my pectoral muscle inside. Pretty cool. Not as cool as seeing your own heart beating, though.

I never used to give surgeons a second thought......but now I think they are absolutely brilliant...........BTW what's a mediport? I haven't heard that term before......maybe we call it something different here:-)

It is a sort of shunt with a catheter that goes into a vein, and they implant it in your chest. They can access it to draw blood or administer chemotherapy, which I had to undergo a number of years ago.

I actually like it better in single digits and the teens than in the 30's. It's damp and chilly in the 30's, but dry when it gets colder.

I'm perfectly content to sit outside when it is approaching 100 and drink beer. If I'm expected to perform physical activity, I'd prefer it to be 90 or lower. 78 and low humidity would be ideal.

We don't have Florida or Gulf coast humidity, but it's usually plenty humid in Chicago in the summer. When I was in the Custer area of South Dakota the temperature was in the upper 90's, and I wasn't even sweating because the humidity was relatively low. The news reports said the humidity was high, which it might have been for the area, but it wasn't close to what I was accustomed to.
