Sit back and listen. I'm going to tell you fellers a story..
OM45GE - Posted - 08/28/2018: 04:27:23
Gladly. Cream and sugar or black and bitter like my outlook on life?
OldBlindGuy - Posted - 08/28/2018: 04:48:55
Sugar, if ya please. What happened to the storyteller? I was getting ready to hear a real whopper.

Once upon a time back about Nov.1,2012 a moderator named
Lynne started a new thread called ; "Who Gets The Last Word"?
The game caught on with the BHO members very quickly and
just everyone wanted to post on that thread.Wasn't long till we had a story started about one of my mules (I believe his name was Jake)
and we would send Jake from one location to another to lend help wherever needed.Well that was working out pretty good till we had
to send Jake to Tenn.to do something and that trip required him to travel past the Jim Beam Distillery .HA.HA.Yep.Old Jake got a swig of
that stuff and he liked it so much that he just camped out there for
a few days..But at the time, nobody knew where Jake was. Then a Man named Amos Scaggs in southern Ohio backtracked old Jake
and found him holed up in a cave.Well Amos finally got Jake sobered up enough to get him started on his way again..But time
nor space doesn't allow me to finish all that was said or done back then..Tune in soon when you'll hear Jake say; Please send me back
through Tenn.again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Anyway, there were 6 or 7 of us here on BHO that kept poor old
Jake rattling his hock to keep up with what his job required of him.
I don't believe I mentioned that Jake had a gold tooth right in front
of his mouth..No need to tell you fellers that all the bandits and all
the highwaymen kept making plans and trying to trap Jake so they
might get that tooth. But old Jake soon came up with a way to defend himself..HA,HA,,Jake just loved to eat boiled cabbage and
potatoes and as ya"ll know that creates a very large amount of gas
in the intestine..So whenever Jake was confronted by those bad men
he just turned his backside to them and "let fly" with a large green
cloud of VERY MUCH stinky-poo..Never took much of that to send
anyone long gone..And Jake would laugh,,BRAA,HA,HA,HA.And as
nature would have it he couldn't stand the smell either and had to
trot off to fresher air.Well it was just such things as that that each of us would write about that kept "Who gets the last word" alive untill
it has progressed to what we have now..(PS),,Jake is now out on pasture chomping grass with the help of a gold tooth.HAPPY POSTING ya"ll,,carry on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Fellers,I just membered something very important. There was a LW thread started some years before Lynne's2012 thread. That's where Jake came into the picture.Unlike today the object was to let the last post made on the thread be the Last Word.I'm not sure but I think it was Richard who came up with the idea of giving LW a bodily form??
That was a good idea Richard,,it has worked out well..Now if you'll keep an eye on your mail.you just might get a compensation check
from the management for your efforts. (NAWWW)!! just kidding....
I think Richard should tell us how he came up with that idea..........

I remember the Mods closing out the thread when we hit 100 pages or so and whoever had the last post "won". Then the Mod would create a new Last Word thread and the fun would continue.
At some point we started referring to the last word in capitals and calling it "him" (which offended Roxygirl).

Yeah,,something like that..Whatever happened to Roxy anyway?
TheLastWord - Posted - 08/30/2018: 15:11:20
Well, she was band a couple of times, then probably just faded away...
It was fun as we drew closer to the end of the game and everyone trying to get the last post. Someone even started a webpage with the winners names.

It's still fun,,just different
took middle tone control pot loose from scratch plate, turned it wide open, left it wired up and used heat shrink material on it,dropped it inside Strat cavity. Then moved vol pot to where the tone pot was,put a plug in old vol hole.that leaves plenty of room to pick now without hitting vol control knob...

OM45GE - Posted - 08/31/2018: 03:35:48
It is still fun for sure.
Does moving the volume pot make it harder to do something like this?
banjoscotty - Posted - 08/31/2018: 06:43:25
Bill,I also have 2 Teles,Moving the vol on the Strat put it
at pretty much the same distance below 1st.string..No,no
problem at all.. I like Arlen he is good picker.

Ohmmmmmm
LOVINGKINDNESS!
OldBlindGuy - Posted - 09/01/2018: 12:58:56
The Okies might have a chance this year, but LW has his money on the boys from 'Bama.
Go FROGS!
TheLastWord - Posted - 09/02/2018: 19:35:32
Yes, he's been doing a few odd jobs around the house earning play money.
banjoscotty - Posted - 09/03/2018: 03:21:46
LW wants a Gretsch Tennessee Rose guitar but I don't believe
Richard has enough odd jobs to support something like that..
TheLastWord - Posted - 09/03/2018: 12:20:45
Wait a minute, I might have one of those laying around the house.

Once a year I laboriously bring down my Orange and Blue NCAA approved $85.00 jersey that I bought at a Good Will store for $6.00 in Anderson, SC, near Clemson, SC.
Ergo, I am a fervent Clemson fan for five days over Christmas or New Year's weekend because we have relatives who live there. And Anderson has a music store where I laid my hands first on a Goodtime Scooped banjo and loved it.
TheLastWord - Posted - 09/04/2018: 14:40:24
Clemson is orange and purple. Gator are orange and blue and I have the last word.
