Lots of people talk and few of them know the Last Word.

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:45:18

Led Zeppelin and the Last Word are both timeless..........

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:45:45

Unlike other people in this topic..... wink

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:47:15

OM45GE - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:48:04

Well, you two enjoy yourselves. I have to get back to work.

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:48:17

I took Friday off so the last word and I can fly to Kansas!

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:49:22

Looks like you've got a good chance of getting your wish for snow.  There's a big storm a brewin'........

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:50:56

As long as it holds off until saturday and the weather here cooperates, the world can storm all it wants between the 22nd and the 29th!

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:55:42

It's supposed to snow tomorrow night here.  We're only supposed to get 1 to 3 inches, here, but they could get up to a foot North and West of here.

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  09:57:33

Just checked out the weather for Friday morning here and it is supposed to be clear and bright at 6am, so I should be fine getting out of here! Fingers crossed that it cooperates and everyone makes it to their destinations safely!!!

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  10:36:55

Good deal.  The snow storm will have passed this area by Friday morning, so I should think you'd have no worries in Kansas.

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  10:44:30

Thank you! Are you going anywhere for Christmas?

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  10:59:29

Good morning

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:01:54

Good morning!!! How is the future looking?

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:06:10

Considering I caught your cold..........not too good   dead

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:10:31

Aww I'm sorry... Hot water with lemon, salt water gargles, a shot or two of Jamison, a snuggly blanket, and watching a great tv show will make you loads better! ...and doubling the recommended dosage of NyQuil haha

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:18:59

No, I'm not going anywhere for Christmas.  I'm going to my parents' house on Chrismas eve, but we'll be home on Christmas day.  I'm hoping to find a Chinese restaurant open so that we can be like the family in A Christmas Story.

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:19:32

I don't know how I caught a cold in this weather, its hot and humid

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:23:39

Summer colds are the worst.

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:26:05

Especially when it's humid because then not only are you stuffed up, but it's that nasty gunk that just won't seem to go away

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:28:58

And getting under a blanket isn't very comfortable in the summertime............

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:29:19

True, but it makes ice cream and jello that much tastier!

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:41:45

I'm hooked on Ice Cream................havent had Jello (Jelly) for years

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  11:44:04

Jello and jelly are two different things. Jelly is what you eat on bread and whatnot. Jello is the jiggly stuff that comes in a box and you have to make it and let it set up before you can eat it. A quick way around that is to just put it in the freezer for an hour. Works great big

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  12:00:30

we call that 'Jelly'.............................the stuff  we put on bread we call 'Jam'       wink

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  12:02:20

Nope, it's strawberry jelly and grape jam lol

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  12:08:09

You Americans talk funny  big

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  12:25:18

Yes, yes we do. Especially the ones who say "soda" instead of "pop"!

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  12:31:49

do you say 'pop' ?

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  12:32:14

Yes I do big

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:11:38

it always was 'Pop' for me too

who are the ones that say 'Soda'    what part of  America ?

I wasn't aware that there are so many differences between American English and Aussie English.....................fionalake.com.au/other-info/ot...can-words

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:13:46

Well from what I can tell, midwesterners call it pop, southerners call it "coke", and northerners easterners and westerners call it "soda". It all just depends on who you are talking to and where they are from. It gets confusing lol.

There are quite a few differences I think... Mainly the accent but still wink

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:18:32

It doesn't take too much to confuse me .smiley

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:19:43

That's why you have me big

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:28:04

I am eternally grateful.........yes

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:29:46

I'm glad!

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:34:16

In the Chicago area where  I did alot of my growing up, it's definitely "pop".  I have a buddy that moved to California, and his wife laughs every time we say "pop" instead of "soda".

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:35:19

It is totally "pop"!

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:37:08

Here's a map showing the regions.

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:39:46

That is pretty right!

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:40:16

Its all soft drink to me

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:43:19

The terms "bubbler" and "drinking fountain" are regional, too.

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:43:35

Lol NOOOOOO!!!!! It's pop. I used to get into arguments with teachers in school who tried to tell me that it wasn't grammatically correct to call it pop, that it was soda. In the end, I continued to call it pop just to spite them.

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:45:49

Gramatically correct?  OMG spare me!  I suppose the correct term would be either "soda pop" or "soft drink", but I don't know anyone who says either.

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:47:09

I really couldn't care less whether it was soda or pop, I will call it pop until I die lol

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:50:44

Me too.  I also say Ketchup instead of Catsup, and Couch instead of Sofa,

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:51:36

Me too!!!

mbanjo - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:53:19

Alaina - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:55:00

ErikH - Posted - 12/19/2012:  13:57:01
