I could use some help shoveling snow, if the LW has some time this afternoon when I get home from work.
banjoscotty - Posted - 01/12/2015: 02:44:20
Shoveling snow is ok.But be careful you don't
get involved concerning child labor with LW.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/12/2015: 06:08:30
They don't seem to care about labor laws when it comes to shovelling snow.
chuckv97 - Posted - 01/12/2015: 10:55:20
I'm glad - we earned a bit of extra jingle shoveling snow in our neighborhood when we were kids
OM45GE - Posted - 01/12/2015: 11:40:31
Now it seems like everyone either has a snow blower or has their driveways plowed, at least around here. It would be hard for a kid to make much at all.
Scaggs7 - Posted - 01/12/2015: 16:42:37
LW didn't stay long
he didn't like the food
he rode the mule a bit and took off
ErikH - Posted - 01/13/2015: 02:17:44
Same here with the snow blowers and plow services. I don't think a kid could make very much. The thing that kills me it how many people don't do the sidewalks in front of their houses.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/13/2015: 04:31:26
I agree about the sidewalks. What irks me (and Last Word) is that my town plows/snow blows the sidewalks and then homeowners or their plow contractors block the sidewalks with their snow.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/13/2015: 04:59:20
Probably not. I saw you post somewhere about the block heater on your truck. I used to park my KW at a lumber mill and didn't have access to electric power. On really cold days I would build a small charcoal fire in a hibachi. When it was down to gray coals I'd slide it under the oil pan go have a cup of coffee and come back and she would fire right up.
chuckv97 - Posted - 01/13/2015: 05:31:09
Hah,,when I lived way out in the country we had a long laneway. I used to park my car at the road and keep the engine warm overnight with a kerosene camping heater under the hood.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/13/2015: 05:45:18
The sawmill where we kept the truck had skidders out in the woods. They equipped them with extra inlet and outlet hoses on the radiators with quick connect fittings. They had matching hoses on a pickup truck and would hook everything up with and run the pickup until the skidder motors were up to temp and then start them up. We were going to do the same with the KW but we got parking at a Ryder facility with plugins so we never did.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/13/2015: 14:52:56
Ah, the life of over the road trucking. I haven't done it in over 30 years. It's not the same as it was back then.
Scaggs7 - Posted - 01/13/2015: 18:36:52
who's house this time
he almost destroyed mine when he left with all those feathers laying around trying to do a blast off thing
Believe me I could say more
ErikH - Posted - 01/14/2015: 02:27:21
LW only stayed by me long enough for a cup of hot chocolate after helping me shovel the driveway Monday evening. I was grateful for the help, but wish he would have taken his shoes off after he came in. He kind of tracked the kitchen up.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/14/2015: 03:15:59
Please send some snow this way. The ground is bare and it doesn't seem right for the middle of January.
ErikH - Posted - 01/15/2015: 02:09:51
I would, but things started warming up yesterday afternoon. We're supposed to be in the 30's for the next couple of days; I'm thinking quite a bit of the white stuff is going to melt here, too.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/15/2015: 05:32:59
The ski areas are making lots of snow because it's been cold but it's weird skiing on a couple of feet of man-made snow while the ground off trail is bare.
ErikH - Posted - 01/16/2015: 02:16:08
The ski places in this area all have to use snow machines to create the bases for most of the hills. I don't know enough about skiing to know if this is the norm anyway.

All of the above comments are here-by declared @$^#&^*%%!!!!!
Come on LW,,I'll take you to get some ice cream.
chuckv97 - Posted - 01/16/2015: 07:36:01
How about LW's favourite?- a scoop of pistachio with a healthy dab of Neapolitan?
OM45GE - Posted - 01/16/2015: 12:21:35
I'll have a chocolate milkshake (or frappe as they call them around these parts).
TheLastWord - Posted - 01/16/2015: 16:29:22
After gorging on chocolate shakes and ice cream cones, the LW has retuned to Florida for a little R and R.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/17/2015: 12:20:47
And now back to Massachusetts for some vintage guitar picking.
ErikH - Posted - 01/19/2015: 02:11:45
LW is taking a ride with the family today to Peoria to visit a college with my stepson.
OM45GE - Posted - 01/19/2015: 03:18:51
Last Word is fondly remembering last night's Patriots' victory.
banjoscotty - Posted - 01/19/2015: 04:06:10
I truly hope he doesn't become paranoid like so many
other pro football fans......
banjoscotty - Posted - 01/19/2015: 16:02:42
Richard, can I come and live with you?
I can't afford to rent a place here.
I only have enough money to do my running around on.
chuckv97 - Posted - 01/19/2015: 17:45:33
Come on out to the Arizona desert, Scotty,, you can sleep out anywhere you want for free. Just remember your snake bite kit.
TheLastWord - Posted - 01/20/2015: 03:49:50
Scotty, sounds like you need to tone down the running around.
Hey, I'm a poet, my feet show it, cause I have the last word.
