TheLastWord - Posted - 02/08/2015: 17:55:06
No problem. He hit a walk off homer with two on base and we won.
OM45GE - Posted - 02/09/2015: 17:34:19
I think that was Gregory Gregory's doing. Maybe he likes two of everything.
TheLastWord - Posted - 02/10/2015: 09:30:14

I understand, it can be difficult to let go of our fantasies.
banjoscotty - Posted - 02/10/2015: 13:16:56
Who needs fantasies when there is the real thing "Down At Dumas Walkers"

Last Word and I have to go clean out my totaled car so they can take it away.
OM45GE - Posted - 02/11/2015: 05:38:59
Last week. I hit some black ice on the highway at about 50 MPH and went head on into the guardrail. Bye bye 1999 BMW M3 Convertible.
TheLastWord - Posted - 02/11/2015: 14:43:29
Wow, sorry to hear that and glad you are ok. Having never lived in the north and dealt with ice, I can't imagine the feeling of sliding and having no control.
OM45GE - Posted - 02/11/2015: 16:58:30
I'm pretty used to it. My dad used to let me take the family car out on frozen lakes when I was still too young for a license. I've ice raced (lots of fun) and driven tractor trailers year round. This just happened too fast and there wasn't any room to catch it. It was the last word in winter driving.
ErikH - Posted - 02/12/2015: 02:14:04
Black ice is scary stuff. I've been fortunate never to have been in an accident after hitting it, but I've had some close calls.

I lived in Jackson Ms back in the early 90's for a few years. Had an ice storm move through and left everything covered in ice. My entire car was covered in inch thick ice. I think my top speed driving to work was around 30 mph.

Being born and raised in Ohio,I know about those things.Hang on,,here comes a story.
At age of 16 or 17,most of us "Yay-Hoo's" had some kinda old clunker. We would wait
untill a light snow,(2 or 3 inches) fell and we would take just two of the cars to Snyder
Park golf course and just let'er rip with donuts, reverse spin-outs ect.We would also make
sure the ground was frozen so we wouldn't tear up the turf.Have you ever gone hill climbing
in the snow? No control what so ever when coming back down.Girls, bonfires,Girls, weinie roast,Girls,
ice racing,Girls,ice skating,Girls,snowball "WARS",Girls,sled riding ,Girls,,,,,,,Well,,you get the idea,,Girls,
OM45GE - Posted - 02/12/2015: 07:15:47
We used to go to a local shopping center and "let'er rip" in the parking lot. We were in there one night when a cop car pulled in. We thought we were busted until he did a couple massive donuts and pulled back out.

banjoscotty - Posted - 02/13/2015: 02:18:56
Is that like "Hi-Ho old Paint,,Let's Git Where We Ain't"?
ErikH - Posted - 02/13/2015: 02:23:24
Maybe Old Paint is doing doughnuts in a snow covered parking lot? That's how most of my friends and I learned how to drive in the snow, incidentally.
TheLastWord - Posted - 02/13/2015: 04:02:51
I think I saw him run by the house a few days ago. He was heading north.
ErikH - Posted - 02/14/2015: 05:06:54
Maybe he's looking for a Polish bakery? Tuesday is Paczki day. Don't know that anybody on these boards has Polish heritage (I don't, but the Chicago area is loaded with Polish immigrants and their descendants) but paczki (pronounced poonchkee) are jelly donuts that are sold everywhere around here on fat Tuesday. They are pretty darn good.
