Certainly a mighty steep pyramid to the point where folks are actually earning much of  living.

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/19/2016:  10:40:52

It seems I've always been attracted to non- commercial music

OM45GE - Posted - 12/19/2016:  11:51:31

I as well. I started out playing Rock but shifted to folk and bluegrass and then finger style guitar fairly quickly.  The only way to make a small fortune in those genres is to start with a big fortune and use it to support yourself.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/19/2016:  12:15:16

It is not a very profitable profession.

OM45GE - Posted - 12/19/2016:  12:24:31

Gotta do it for love.

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/19/2016:  12:49:58

That's the best way - when I was playing 4 nighters in the '70's for a few months, it got old pretty quick.

OM45GE - Posted - 12/19/2016:  12:52:44

It beats deep shaft coal mining.

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/19/2016:  13:04:20

I guess that's where Monroe and Martin went hunting for band members - one of the greatest fiddlers ever was Kenny Baker who had worked in the coal mines.  Merle Travis escaped the mines with his guitar, as you likely know.

There are a lot of pretty crappy ways to earn a living.

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/19/2016:  21:47:07

I think I lived through a few of those jobs

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/20/2016:  02:48:41

The last welding job I was on lasted me for 46 years...Then I retired

OM45GE - Posted - 12/20/2016:  03:16:09

That's a pretty good record of job stability.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/20/2016:  07:12:00

We raised 6 boys while on that job,,WOW,WHEW,AND GOLLY GEE!!!

OM45GE - Posted - 12/20/2016:  08:01:28

That's impressive. I can barely cope with one sometimes. I don't know that I would like being that outnumbered.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/20/2016:  11:28:36

Well,we had us some confusion a time or two but we always
managed to work through them.

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/20/2016:  11:30:42

I had two girls - I'm still spoiling them

OM45GE - Posted - 12/20/2016:  12:32:19

I was one of six kids and we were definitely a challenge.

Keep spoiling Chuck.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/21/2016:  03:55:56

My oldest is 56 years old and I find myself still giving advise,,and he lets me advise.
Although I believe he's smiling inside..HA,HA,,and I let him smile.

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/21/2016:  04:37:48

You never quit being a parent

OM45GE - Posted - 12/21/2016:  06:38:24

Hopefully, at 56 he's realized you're not completely clueless.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/21/2016:  07:24:57

Growing with those boys sure taught me a lot

OM45GE - Posted - 12/21/2016:  07:33:58

I bet. I was 49 when Ethan was born. I knew a lot more then than I did in my twenties. especially patience. I'm glad I waited.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/22/2016:  11:54:44

Our family wasn't planned..It happened ..

OM45GE - Posted - 12/22/2016:  12:16:48

I actually thought I never would have kids. Then in my forties I realized I really wanted to.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/22/2016:  14:42:18

HA,HA,,My dad said a crow pooped me on a stump and the sun hatched me out..

OM45GE - Posted - 12/22/2016:  16:11:29

A crow?

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/22/2016:  18:21:24

A variation on the stork tale

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/23/2016:  01:47:38

Yes,,There are no storks in Ohio..

OM45GE - Posted - 12/23/2016:  02:33:32

Lots of crows though.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/23/2016:  03:20:30

Lots of stumps too...

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/23/2016:  07:42:06

LW is stumped wondering where to go next

OM45GE - Posted - 12/23/2016:  08:41:26

He said he was planning to stay right here.

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/23/2016:  11:25:18

Negatorri...he emailed me that he's taking the midnight train to Yuma

OM45GE - Posted - 12/23/2016:  13:41:02

He was just pulling your chain, there is no midnight train to Yuma.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/24/2016:  02:47:48

There might be if LW can hi-jack one.

OM45GE - Posted - 12/24/2016:  04:04:13

I not sure how savvy LW is. He may try to hi-jack a Boston subway.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/24/2016:  04:37:07

OH,YES,,He can figure out a way to engineer that train in the subway for sure...

OM45GE - Posted - 12/24/2016:  04:52:12

But all the tracks end within city limits.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/24/2016:  05:41:19

Well,I suppose we had better tell him that,,,,

OM45GE - Posted - 12/24/2016:  11:39:38

It might be funny to see him tell the conductor to take him to Arizona.

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/24/2016:  15:14:08

He could always time travel back to these days

OM45GE - Posted - 12/24/2016:  17:41:57

Get him all steamed up?

janolov - Posted - 12/25/2016:  11:30:19

I want to make a time travel to the time when I had the LW

chuckv97 - Posted - 12/25/2016:  12:01:26

Did you take LW on a ride in your VW?

OM45GE - Posted - 12/25/2016:  14:59:32

I wonder if that's what is bugging him.

banjoscotty - Posted - 12/25/2016:  16:51:04

I don't know..He just bugged out of here.

OM45GE - Posted - 12/25/2016:  18:31:23
