Last night: steak salad with grilled beef, cucumber, roasted red pepper, artichoke hearts, onion, and provolone on a bed of lettuce.
Tonight: grilled salmon and box mac 'n' cheese.

I've been told that curried fish has to be one of the most disgusting dishes of all to look at.
Lumpy greenish onion gravy poured over toast. Fine by me. Make your own supper.
Fiji, 1972. I need a "fix" every 6 weeks or so. Special stash of solid tuna.

Had a dish called nil by mouth last night. Today, it’s not even yet 5pm I’ve tried hospital food for the first time in my life- Lancashire hot pot….. not half bad either. Looking forward to some home cooking thoughts

Last night was my first ‘proper’ meal in a while. To celebrate we had sirloin steaks, baked potatoes, asparagus and broccoli. Bloody lovely it was too!

Another frozen apple for dinner!

Hanger steak and baked potatoes from a local farm store. The beef was a little chewier than what you get from the supermarket, but the flavor was excellent!

bubbalouie - Posted - 07/31/2021:  18:47:01

We had nice ground chuck burgers , fingerling potatoes & spinach salad last night.

I was reminiscing about when we were experimenting with smoked pork bellies. Terry ordered & picked up a 11.5 lb. pork belly yesterday! Skin on for piggy puffs. We have a vacuum sealer so we'll portion it up to smoke or roast with crispy skin.

You'll all have to picture this in your heads because I can't post new pictures either!

On holiday in Scotland for a few days. Adults had steaks last night but the kids wanted burgers - haggis burgers….. I was quite envious.

Wet Spaniel - Posted - 08/02/2021:  10:47:06

More haggis tonight. You can’t come to Scotland without having a ‘haggis supper’ - battered deep fried haggis and chips. It certainly sticks to your ribs!

rinemb - Posted - 08/02/2021:  12:03:49

Forgot to take pic, but last night was steak night for us, as well. Bone-in ribeye, salt-crusted potato-baked in the grill, salad using some of or tomatoes and herbs with home mixed O&V dressing, paired with a domestic cab.

I liked haggis, the few times I have eaten it.  But I am sure glad you identified what was in those pic's!  Brad wink

Zataran's has some pretty good stuff. I've recently tried, dirty rice - delicious, and Jambalaya - delicious. I guess people from louisiana, or people who've been there and see themselves as experts might not like it too much, but for the rest of us, it's pretty darn good.

We shared a nice thick little ribeye marinated in pecan whiskey and coated with prime rib rub. Some baked red bbn potatoes on the side.

Going out to the pub with some friends this afternoon. Got a taxi booked back home for 7pm so I’ve been knocking up some curries for when we get back. Saag paneer, butter chicken made with quorn meat substitute, lamb rogan Josh and chicken tikka masala .

I made a stromboli out of spare parts from the pizza I made on Sunday night. Fresh dough though.

We thought we were going to a yocal restaurant for supper, but arrived at 5:45 to see a sign out front "Open 7a.m. to 6 p.m."   With the wind taken out of our sails, we went home and each foraged for him/herself.   Adhering to KISS I rounded up: canned salmon, canned pork and beans, a PB and honey sandwich and a slice of cheddar cheese.    ..... but, we'll finish with a flourish... tea with a bit of choc. cake/ice cream is soon to be served.  yes

Tuna fish pasta salad tonight with lots of fresh herbs. No pictures, sorry!

Brian T - Posted - 08/11/2021:  18:31:24

I'll be over, fig'. I can eat very large quantities of fish every day. Me and Heidi-cat for tuna.

I've got left over green beans, basmati rice and 2 big lime chicken breasts to dice.
I'll put my biggest wok on the stove, empty the fridge and the freezer and supper will develop.

Bought one of those grocery store rotisserie chickens. Shredded and dressed it up with this mustard based BBQ sauce my son's wife makes. Served it over some baked, three cheese mac & cheese.

Granddaughter loved it! Easy and fast meal.

Thos chickens are killa...good...

Out with a big wok. They have a note. I can tell which one by the song with the spoon.

> Fine dice onion, sliced garlic and 1/2C fine dice celery in to start.
> 1C Corn, 1C green beans and 3C dice lime chicken, all precooked.
> Maybe 2C leftover Basmati and 2 big handfuls cooked steam-fried noodles.
> Few oz water and a glass lid* for 5 minutes to really hold some heat.
> The usual Sesame oil and light soya sauce (regular darkens the food too much.)

* I like glass lids on all my pots and pans: fun to watch the food.
The celery had a bigger but positive change in taste than I expected.
The bean sprouts had gone off or they would have been in there, too.

Spicy chicken pasta with spinach and tomato. LHS is the quorn version for my veggie daughter.

STUD - Posted - 08/15/2021:  04:27:40

Last night:
Chicken thighs marinated in some Italian dressing and skewered with onions. Mushroom risotto from a box on the side.

I just finished half a large crabmeat roll from the blessed Keag Store.
I believe I'll top it off with a "Double Chocolate" Klondike bar with a cup of decaff green tea.
Topped off with a few pulls on some nice Jamaican weed.
