Occupation: Planning on becoming a forest-ecologist, or a lawyer, in the future.

My Instruments:
A 5-string open-back Banjo, the one I was able to afford last year.

A LeVan-Allwardt long neck tubaphone open-back banjo in the making.

Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Pete Seeger, Kingston Trio, Almanac Singers, The Weavers, and all other folks and folkies! Greenbriar boys, the New Lost City Ramblers, Tom Paxton, Roscoe Holcomb, Jean Redpath, Frank Warner (tenor player), Buffy-Sainte-Marie (especially on mouthbow), Woody Guthrie, Patrick Sky, Alexander Zelkin (Russian guitar singer), Judy Collins, Jim and Hazel Garland (wrote, "I Do not want your Millions mister"), Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee, and the oh-so-many others too numerous to explain.
--
Not too many pop bands of today, to be honest. As Pete Seeger said, "Once I heard their [country] music, I learned that there was a lot of good music in this country that was not played on the radio".

Intermediate Banjo player currently in late high-school. I enjoy learning how to play the banjo, along with being out in nature. In addition to this, I hope to become a forester/forest-ecologist at some point (as well as maybe a lawyer, since law interests me). Currently living in the beautiful farmland and forests of Pennsylvania, the state that, as Kipling described, "They are there, there, there with Earth immortal. Citizens, I give you friendly warning. The things that truly last when men and times have passed, They are all in Pennsylvania this morning!" I rather enjoy up picking (seeger style) and clawhammer a lot, along with 2 finger. However, I also like to pick some pieces with three fingers as well. I just go with what sounds good! If anyone in the SE PA, Northern DE, Northeast Maryland areas want to join up and jam a bit, please feel free to contact me!
