Notes: Bela Fleck's break from the Dreadful Snakes recording. He tunes down from Open G to Open F tuning (fCFAC), which is a real pain, so I suggest using software to bring it up to pitch and learn it in open G. Here's a reference, have fun: https://youtu.be/Hr0q929aTCU?t=182

Notes: Tony throws some cool Reno ideas in there that are worth stealing. Otherwise it's a good arrangement to start learning the tune with. I plan to tab out his second break as he does some nice syncopated rolls in that one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp_kUPOj3xY&t=49s

Hot Burrito Breakdown - Scott Vestal

Notes: Apart from the fairly "straightforward" melodic parts in the first break, the rest of part A could be described as Scruggs style but using his own unique choice of rolls and right hand positions to single out certain notes such as at the beginning of both breaks. Both B parts are mostly backward rolls over 7th chord positions with pinches to move from C to Bb to A. In bar 49 he uses a 1-3-5-3 roll to inch up from the F shape G chord to the D shape, and then the same for the C. Hope this helps shed light on what he is doing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9LFcKIfLXw&t=1m13s

Notes: He does a nice version of it in the Bluegrass 2000 album. This is his 2nd break where he really lets go and does it his own way with those backwards rolls and sixths. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn34_BZHkq8&t=2m17s

Notes: Hey guys, New to banjo hangout and relatively new to banjo still (7 months of playing consistently). Been working on transcribing this tune for a couple of weeks now and I think I have it pretty close to the recording Keith Whitley and Ricky Skaggs had on their Second Generation Bluegrass album. I've always loved the way Mr. Stanley played this tune! Let me know how I did! Always open to review Thanks!

Notes: I was looking for the original tab of this song, but noticed that the tabs I found in the Internet were not like the original... So I tried to write my own tabs listening the original mp3 record of the Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs playing. I used the program for making the record very slow so I could hear each note Earl Scruggs played. Now it seems my tabs more close to the original version of the official studio version of this song. Please, let me know, what do you think? Do you like it or no and why? Your opinion means lot for me! Thank you!!!))

Notes: This is my best cut at a note for note transcription of Ralph Stanley playing this tune. It's my first time publishing here on Banjo Hangout so great to finally give something back after all I have gotten from the site! Note that Ralph uses a hammer-on for open string which is designated here as a bracketed note.
