Oy. I posted this earlier today and came back and it wasn't here. So I will post a little something again (and now I've learned to write my entries in an email to myself so I have them if there's a board-burp again.)
I am a gadget head. I am. I love high tech. But today it took me an hour to try to figure out why my little iRiver T30 was not recording. I finally broke down and looked at the manual online. Once I got THAT figured out, I played and recorded some tunes, which I posted here on my music page.
First is the Wildwood Flower bit I mentioned yesterday that I had forgotten about. Nice to know I am making progress.
Second is Country Roads, by John Denver and arranged by Jay Buckey. The first measure is hesitant and I have some muddiness at the end. I want to post a cleaner rendition of this song, because I think I play it pretty well. Third is Eight More Miles to Louisville. The first half is the vocal back up rolls that I usually sing to. The second half is a Martinesque arrangement similar to his "happy banjo" bit. (There's no tab author on my print out to attribute, sorry. I do give credit where due.)
I had a heck of a time editing the mp3's when I was done. Something is wrong in my copy of audacity and it is not reading mp3 files correctly. I am going to have to uninstall it and download a clean copy. I found a program called "Blaze" which is way more than I need, but it's 15-day free trial-ware. That's what I finally used. What I need is something simple like Windows Sound Recorder. If you know of one, holler.
So enjoy listening. I'm proud of my progress. I am still a n00b, but I am moving forward.
