Where does the time go? How did it get to the middle of November already? My head is still in September. My feet feel like they're in January, so maybe I'm just spread way too thin!
I had a busy and productive day, until about 3:00 when I just quit and took a little weekend for myself. I worked on a new arrangement of Ghost Riders. This one uses a Gminor tuning, which I like. I also use it for a couple of other songs (When Johnny Comes Marching Home and Pretty Polly) so it's really a bit more convenient to learn it in this tuning. I will just have to record both and see which sound I prefer. It also might make sense to see which key is most singable for me. My range is so low that the Gminor might work better. I also realized today that I need a couple of new pickies. Mine are wearing, and there's not much there to wear away as it is. I might switch back to full-finger style for a while just to keep my fingers used to them. Or I might not. I really prefer the teenypicks.
No school for the kiddo tomorrow, and she doesn't know it yet but she's gonna get run ragged with erranding while I work. She really is my extra pair of hands when she's home, and she has such a generous heart. She's always happy to pitch in. She's excited today because our local Starbucks is running a drink she invented as a special next week. It's called "Swamp Chai" because it's a horrible green color. I have no idea what it tastes like; chai is not my thing. But she's pleased, because she gets a couple of freebies out of the deal.
Me, I will stick with my halfpot coffee and the last piece of pie. Which rhymes with chai, and tastes better.
