I figure we better start another topic for this thread. The part 7 thread is so big it's no longer advancing the page count.

Kathy -
You better listen to the docs and give yourself time to get back to 100%...not easy to do I know, but very important particularly as we get "more refined" in years.
Work is going well...but I must admit I miss the Army ...even after 25 years. I'm not sure who all is coming to camp this year....I don't think Ernie, Mike and Jeff are making the trip
But I'm sure you'll get some great jams going. Are you headed down on Thursday? If so and you need a ride from the airport let me know.
Doug

Hi Kathy & Doug,
I'm coming to NashCamp as usual. :-) I'll also be visiting my parents in Northern Virginia in the middle of August if you want to get together and pick some, Doug.
Tyler
whywild - Posted - 08/06/2009: 10:16:18
Tyler - please give me a ring when you get in town...if you're here on the 1st or 3rd Saturday, I know a great jam we can go to.

Hey guys
I'm headed back again. Saw Earl and Family a few nights ago in Grand Rapids. Pretty special. Anyway, look forward to seeing all of you again, listening to some great music, and trying to play some resemblance of what we hear. Are you stayin at camp Thurs. night?

Just got back from an evening in the studio with my mahogany Chief #18, working on the new Dappled Grays album. That banjo sounds AMAZING in the studio!

Stan..Brenda and I are planning on going down on Wednesday so we can get up early on Thursday and check out the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. If time allows we may run out to the Gibson Showcase....Monty
Banjo Stan - Posted - 08/22/2009: 09:21:27
That was my thinking too, Monty. A good night sleep Wednesday night, and then off to the Showcase, Gruhn's and other music places on Thursday. See you and Brenda at Camp!
BTW, has anyone heard from Poke Chipe lately?![]()

Hey Stan..... still around just been really busy
Unfortunately I have that Fire Museum benefit that I cut out early for last year the same weekend again as Nashcamp. Our State hasn't passed a budget and city services are getting slashed so I'm secretly hoping my gig up here gets cancelled in time to head back to camp.
If it does.... I'm up for car pooling ![]()
Hope all is well with the Tribe ![]()

Kathy - looks like its about 50 minutes from the airport to the camp site; about 40 minutes from the Station Inn. I've got a rental car and I'd be happy to get you there.....I'm staying at the Comfort Inn on Thursday night.....don't feel like driving an hour after the Station Inn Thursday night.

Hey Rick,Nice picture! Finally!!
Kerri Antes will be the hostest with the mostest and will be needing a head count for dinner reservations..
If I recall a rainy windy night,we can run from the Station Inn to the Comfort Inn in relatively little time.

Count me in for dinner and the Inn. Doug, if your car isn't full yet, I'll spit the cost with you and hitch a ride. However, there might be enough people to need more then one car, in which case, I could grab another. I fly in aroung 3:30.
Thanks, and see ya there.

I'm in for the works, Kathy. I'm keeping my room at the Comfort Inn even though they're allowing people to stay at the camp Thursday. A short walk after the Station Inn seems to make more sense than a long ride.

No the Gulch has not claimed me. The reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated, however, my wife has recently had some surgery, requiring my presence at home and use of my available leave time, so I will have to forgoe the fun for this year. I will miss you all !

I saw Kristin Scott Benson playing her Chief with Larry Sparks on "Song of the Mountains" on Saturday night. Kristin is one heck of a player and she sure made that Chief sound great. It makes me want to order a Chief of my own. ![]()

You're right, Darrell. Thanks for correcting that for me. It was Larry Stephenson and I can't tell you how impressed I am with Kristin's playing on that show.

I sure am glad, because when I first read your other post, I was disappointed that I had missed a show (I have my DVR set to record them).
She can definitely pick, and she's a very nice person too.
