I'll just add my word of thanks to all who help make the Banjo Retreat such a wonderful time. I have next year's retreat in my calendar already. There are so many facets and so many people that make it such a treat. So many interesting people with so many interesting stories - all of us gathered by our loves of banjos. Thanks again. See you next year.

Stan - I don't believe I got to tell you a proper good-bye! Mwah mwah, and thanks for letting me play your awesome bass; using the word PLAY loosely.
Who took the photo of the three teen boys after the late late late night jam Saturday? I want a copy.

Thanks, everyone, for a terrific weekend. Everybody was so friendly and supportive. Special thanks to Sonny, Cindy, and Bill for making it all possible. Marcia, too, for making me have to run extra miles this week to work it all off. Worth every bite.
My connecting flight in Chicago was delayed 45 minutes because of SNOW in Boston!
Hope to see everyone again next year.

Home at last - it's good to be back in Maine, and the joyous reunion with a certain 4-legged yeller critter made getting back all the more worthwhile.
Which said: Great time at Nashcamp. It was a pleasure to see so many old friends, and make so many new old friends. I miss it already.

Evenin'...
Very impressed with the Banjo Camp. Lots of folks interested in the banjo...that's a good thing. Enjoyed the hospitality, Cindy and Sonny...
Now, lets see if someone will instruct me as to how to post photos with my messages.

Loafer,
Best to upload your pictures first to your homepage. Go to your homepage and click on your photo album, then click to upload new photos. You can choose to put photos in your default album or create a new one for a special occasion, like Banjo Camp. Click on upload photos and you'll be presented with a browser to your computer. You can enter titles and captions to your photos at this time. After the pictures are loaded, you need to right-click on the picture you want to post and select "Copy Image Location". Go to your post and type [imj] [/imj] replacing the j with a g. (If I spell img correctly, it thinks I'm trying to post a picture.) Put your cursor between the ] [ brackets, right-click, and select paste. You'll insert the URL location of the image. By default, the image size is small. Simply replace the small with large in the location and your picture will be huge. That's it. If all works out right, you'll see something like this... again replacing the j with a g [imj]banjohangout.ws/banjohangout.o...02008.jpg[/imj]
Hope this helps. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

Hey Stan -
I took a ride down to Jerry Fretwell's shop today and had him install position markers and a set of RotoSound strings on my bass.....he was pretty sure those were the strings on your bass. Thanks for giving them a call to try and figure out what set is on your bass. My bass sounds 100 times better than it did with the year and a half old set that was on it. Jerry and his wife are great folks. I appreciate you letting me play your Kay at Banjo Camp and for the tip to go see the Fretwell's.

Hey Doug,
Glad to be of service.... Oh, BTW thanks for your service! Happy Veteran's Day to you and all the guys and gals in uniform.
Jerry,
I don't know what to think of my Ravens. Always soooo close, but no cigar.
The Bengals are looking good. If we can't win the division I hope it's you. Anybody but the Steelers!![]()

Hey Stan..whay's wrong with the Steelers? They just know how to win.
I'm not a Steelers fan but you gotta give the devil his due..They somehow figure out how to win.
But I remember Ray Lewis!!!
Twas a pleasure to see him play.

Stan,
The Bengals are looking down right frightening .We are uneasy around here unless they are out of the playoffs by Thanksgiving. They are playing like Forest Gregg is growling at them from the sidelines. This division will go down to W/L in the division itself.
I'll be picking my Chief and watching as play starts in Pitt this Sunday .
That could get bloody.
The game , not my picking .

Hi
I had my Mahogany Chief 11# set up by Charlie Cushman a couple of years ago can anyone tell me what the head tension should be set at. As i need to tension the head to try and get the sound Charlie got. Thanks
Banjo Stan - Posted - 11/15/2009: 04:31:07
Hey Sonny and Steve,
Pittsburgh always seems to come out on top against the Ravens. So many of the refs calls go against us; not just against the Steelers.... just all the time. It's kind of frustrating at times. I do like Troy Palamalo, though... great athelete! Hines Ward is always taking cheap shots against his opponents so I can't stand him.
Anyhow I'm going with the Bengals today.![]()
