Thank you I appreciate that..........there is nothing better than getting information first hand. I spend a lot of time on google but its not the same
Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013: 15:34:32
It never is! Just like pictures will never do the real thing justice
mbanjo - Posted - 01/09/2013: 15:42:49
I already have a great knowledge of the US.....have spent a lot of time studying various places that interest me .........last year was death valley....I can name just about every canyon........its a must do when I visit...........in the cool season of course
Alaina - Posted - 01/09/2013: 15:48:42
Yes, definitely in the cool season. Though I still recommend driving through the midwest in the summer and praying to get caught in a huge storm. There is nothing like it on Earth
ErikH - Posted - 01/10/2013: 15:03:39
If you are driving across the country, be sure to go through South Dakota. The Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, and the Badlands are not to be missed.
Alaina - Posted - 01/10/2013: 15:11:15
Don't forget the Grand Canyon! My bf and I are planning on going there on our way to Texas this summer
mbanjo - Posted - 01/10/2013: 15:20:05
That's in my plans.........going north to alaska also ......Denalli national park
mbanjo - Posted - 01/10/2013: 15:36:01
I have all the time in the world.............if the money lasts as long:-)
mbanjo - Posted - 01/10/2013: 16:22:21
I used to be a customs officer........they were not to happy when it went missing
mbanjo - Posted - 01/10/2013: 17:15:20
There are still plenty of bushfires rageing here...and the forecast is for hotter weather for the weekend. Things will get worse before they get better.
ErikH - Posted - 01/11/2013: 02:30:36
That is something we don't normally have to deal with in my part of the country. We get tornadoes and the occasional blizzard to make up for it, though.
mbanjo - Posted - 01/11/2013: 11:04:52
I would love to get close to see a tornado.......we only get willy willys once in a while
Alaina - Posted - 01/11/2013: 11:48:21
I saw one when I was 5. My sister was still a baby and screaming bloody murder as mom was dragging her and me to my grandparents' basement. I was demanding to stay upstairs with dad and grandpa to watch the storm and she flat out told me no. Bailey (my sister) had started to settle down, so I went over and pinched her leg, she started screaming again, I ducked under mom's arm and was upstairs and on my dad's shoulders before she could make it up the stairs to catch me. It was scary and exciting and breathtaking and flat out incredible to watch.
mbanjo - Posted - 01/11/2013: 11:54:59
Scary stuff for sure........We get to see them all the time on the news here. You must get hundreds every year.....?
mbanjo - Posted - 01/11/2013: 13:15:36
But you may get sucked up and finish up in Oz......dorothy :-)
ErikH - Posted - 01/11/2013: 14:55:40
I've been in the vicinity of one once or twice, but never close enough to see one. I would like to see one, as long as it isn't headed for my house.
Alaina - Posted - 01/11/2013: 14:58:29
It was a good two miles away, but it was still one of the coolest things I've ever seen
Alaina - Posted - 01/11/2013: 15:54:39
Not when you are a 5 year old who loved adventure and wasn't afraid of anything except your sister's poopy diapers.
mbanjo - Posted - 01/11/2013: 16:05:58
Aaaarh.......you said the two worst words in the world ........P------D--------rs. :-)
ErikH - Posted - 01/13/2013: 04:15:34
If I think hard enough, I bet I could come up with something even worse..............
ErikH - Posted - 01/15/2013: 02:44:46
I would think bed pan duty in a hospital wouldn't be very pleasant, either.
BigMonFan - Posted - 01/15/2013: 06:06:25
You can't turn a double play when there are already two outs.
mbanjo - Posted - 01/15/2013: 12:09:16
Its nice to see more people seem to be playng the games...............:-)
mbanjo - Posted - 01/15/2013: 12:27:25
