I was searching the net for a drum machine to make my own backing tracks, the Alesis SR18 looked good, I then found a free drum machine download called 'Hydrogen' .. just tried it out for a hour or so and it's really good, it will export the tracks you make as wmv files. I have an idea that I could transfer the file to an old pocket pc or an MP3 player, plug the player via the headphone socket into my small amp... and then I have it! .. The set-up won't be as good as a proper dedicated drum machine, as there won't be a foot controlled start/stop switch, ... I'll have a think about that and maybe come up with a workaround!
