I grew up in a family were music was a big part of our day! Being the youngest out of 7,I've listen to every thing from Bing Crosby to Led Zepplin and styles from gospel,bluegrass and mt.music,to rock,classical and old time swing(my parents use to dance to swing when I was little..haha!)I started playing the banjer when I was 17.I heard a man that was sittin on his porch and I said"I want to learn how to play." I mostly learned by ear.but did take some lessons from a man back in the early 80's.Love clawhammering but also pick.I got together with some friends and we've been writing our own songs and formed the Muddy Fork Band.We have a cd out;Yellow Sky that came out Nov.2010...I'm married and live on whats left of my parents farm.And enjoy music,the outdoors,canoeing,fishing and gardening..when I have time.I work at a middle school.
