Major Detour: but alive and (not quite) kickin'!

Just a quick note... away from The Hangout and everything else due to sudden episode of diverticulitis with bowel perforation... leading to partial colectomy with a draining ostomy.  Active lifestyle and walking the beach the day before... spent 15 days in the hospital... finally home yesterday.  Totally drained and dealing with my new "challenges" but, very fortunate to have had successful surgery and good prognosis for bowel re-anastomosis in about 3-4 months.  My wife is exception as well... makes all the differences.

Not sure how to play a banjo as yet with the ostomy bag and healing incision, but ... i'll get something figured out, down the road.

Happily married with 3 children... retired Ob/Gyn physician... my last practice was as Faculty at North Colorado Family Medicine. Started a band for them... fun diversion! Other interests: tennis player/fan; biking and hiking ... attempting to remain fit and healthy despite 2 major abdominal surgeries. My youth was (mis)spent in Atlanta... 3 yrs the Navy as payback for med school; an east-coaster until moving west in 2007... returned to SE coastal GA in 2016.
