Just a quick note... away from The Hangout and everything else due to sudden episode of diverticulitis with bowel perforation... leading to partial colectomy with a draining ostomy. Active lifestyle and walking the beach the day before... spent 15 days in the hospital... finally home yesterday. Totally drained and dealing with my new "challenges" but, very fortunate to have had successful surgery and good prognosis for bowel re-anastomosis in about 3-4 months. My wife is exception as well... makes all the differences.
Not sure how to play a banjo as yet with the ostomy bag and healing incision, but ... i'll get something figured out, down the road.
Cheers to all: hope to be back soon!

Thank you all for the kindness... yep, 15 days was a VERY long time, especially for an independent, previously active person like me. Best wishes to all... and enjoy every day you have your good health!

So...you're just walking around, minding your own business and bam! colon blowout time - ouch!!! I do hope you're on the road to recovery Ken, a positive attitude (and good health insurance) will hopefully get you all the way back in shape.

Thank you Doug... recovery is going pretty well!
Yep Laurence, that's how it went down... the most horrible days i've endured, by far. Emergency surgery after days of intensive medical management failed... and i got worse, post-op... before i slowly got "better". Feelin' almost like myself now... and will be a whole lot better once off the antibiotics (awful metallic taste that leaves me with no appetite).
Onward lads... keep lookin' up!

I don't look into out BHO as often as I used to, or should. I'm sorry I was late in finding out about your situation Mr Ken V. Pants. Just keep positive and take care of your self in body and soul.
As far as playing during your recovery, . . . . . maybe take a lesson from the great Jimmy Hendrix and try a bit of that playing behind the head action, or maybe like the dobro, in the lap steel git box way.
I hope for you and yours a good trouble free recovery.
Thanx for all the music you have shared with us over the years, I can't wait for more to come.

Sorry to hear you're having health problems Doc. I hope you have a speedy recovery. You gave me great encouragement when I was battling my health issues. I don't check the hangout that often anymore, but I always check the video section to see what you've been up to when I log in. You have made great progress over the years. Take care and get well buddy!

Very kind of you, Jeff - i've been slacking on posting new content, though. I did have the bowel "reconnected" this past July... as well as an emergency hospitalization in April (bowel incarceration due to hernia at the ostomy site... grrr!)... and have made a slow, but steady recovery. Thankful to be almost back to "normal" activity-wise. Hope you are in good health and enjoying each day. Cheers friend!
